The best thing to do is hold but when you want to buy something, buy crypto with fiat and then spend that crypto. This way you keep your crypto savings and your using it in its indented fashion.

governments will never accept currency they can't control, and inertia is too strong of a force combined with average stupidity to make cryptocurrencies a mainstream payment system
smart contracts silently powering backends is the real value proposition. anyone who's not a low-end wagecuck can see that. the public cannot be educated, it's your system that has to be tailored to serve the needs of the masses of idiots - and *then* you lure them to different use cases

I would unironically do it but:

Paying $25 in fees for $100 headphones is stupid.

There aren’t many places that take ETH, BCH or XLM and switching from those costs too much in exchange and withdrawal fees to be worth it.

That being said, I am planning to pay in crypto for some freelance work I need for a project if I can find a good writer that is savyy enough to accept it. I think freelance work is a good way to incentivize crypto usage at the moment without the need for stores to start accepting it.
