I have a B.S. in Psychology with a few years total work experience. How can I get a "real" (40k>) job?

Your formal education effectively ended the moment you finished high school. Think in terms of high school diploma + fews years work experience.

Because you have a (probably) low gpa, didn't go to an ivy league school, and have no connections.

What kind of work experience do you have? Is it relevant to your field of study, or just a mcjob?

I didn't say to not list it, I'm just saying that it's a useless degree for the purpose gaining immediate professional work. Your best bet is a sales job of some kind where your earnings are commission based, and simply having a college degree may help you get into better firms. It's rough at the beginning, but as you amass clients and grow your network, you'll eventually reach over 40k at some point.

A few temp jobs. 7 months working in a mental health facility (psych tech), 2-3 months as a lab technician, and almost a year as an assistant business analyst.

And some volunteer experience at my university.

And I am turned off to sales in that I did door to door for two weeks then quit. Didn't work out. I'm not to good at selling unless the product sells itself and Im like at a call center. Im autusutc and dont know what to say and tend to make things personal all the time in terms of the topic like "I did this" etc. turns people off.

And I want to do something other than Psych.

Perfect, buy some programming books and get yourself a 100k job in San Jose. It should take about a year of serious study to become proficient.
