They are giving coins away for free to "underserved individuals" in Africa.

On the faq at Stellar.org under the question "why should I buy Lumens if you are giving them away for free?" the response is

>you may wish to support the work of Stellar.org and invest in our future success"

so pump value into the coin while we give it away for free

I would understand if this went hand in hand with e.g. a coordinated effort to get XLM accepted with local merchants, but based on the vague information on Stellar.org, it sounds like it's just a giveaway.

I fear this will fuck up the price when these underserved individuals sell the coins for cheap.

Sold my bags today finally. I really like the idea of this coin but if you’re in it for pure financial reasons and you don’t care about the politics of it, get out immediately.

Kek, sold mine today too and bought more Link. Couldn't take the SJW aspect of this turd any longer, and it hasn't been a good performer for months outside of a few small pumps. There is only one currency coin, and that is Bitcoin for better or worse. The only other things that are worth investing in are tokens that will bring new technology to the table. Stellar may be trying to make itself into a platform now, not just a currency, but it does neither of those roles as well as BTC and ETH, so I don't see it having much of a future. It's one shot was FairX, and that is pretty much blown at this point.
FUCK you Stellar, I should have sold you at 90 cents.
