Give it to me straight non-fanboys. Is LINK just a shillcoin trap? I don't want to lose thousands of dollars just because some 5 year olds tricked me into buying a worthless coin. Is RCN/Oraclize a better choice since they don't have 4chanfags on their forums?

There's only two guys in the team and almost no communication about the status of the project.
The last Twitter post was on the 5th November and apparantly they are working on a private repository now.
The concept might be promising but I'm not comfortable putting my money in a project without knowing what's happening.
