HAPPENING edition

Popular brokers for stock trading:
Robinhood
>commission free and no minimum to open
http://www.robinhood.com

> How is it free?
Robinhood earns revenue by collecting interest on cash/securities and fees from their Robinhood Gold service

> It's been X days, why isn't my account verified yet?
Not being approved in 3 days seems to be the new norm. Nevertheless, call/email their support if you've been waiting more than that.

> When is it coming to my country?
The only "plans" are on an Australian and Chinese beta. Neither of which has gained much traction.

Interactive Brokers
>$1 commission per 100 shares. $10k minimum to open, $3k if 25 or under. Lowest margin interest.
http://www.interactivebrokers.com

TD Ameritade
>$6.95 commission per trade. No minimum to open. Fantastic data/charting through their free ThinkorSwim service

>WAKE THE FUCK UP
Nothing has fucking changed!
Trump took over when the dow was at 1900
its now at 24000
thats 5000 points in one fucking year!
that has never happened before
AND BY THE WAY
NEWS FLASH
THE TAX BILL STILL PASSED
this means almost every US company now has 14 percent more capital to invest in their companies.
know what that means boys and girls?
it means lower prices
more advertising
higher production
and more jobs
and most importantly
IT MEANS EARNINGS ARE GOING TO GO THROUGH THE GOD DAMNED ROOF!

NOT TO MENTION THE INFASTRUCTURE BILL THAT WIL LITTERALLY AD TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS OF VALUE TO THE CONSTRUCTION SECTORS

This isnt a fucking crash
its a fucking buying oppurtunity
Want to not have a shit day?
Take out some money from savings and put it into US Steel
Its at 35 dollars a share
according to the futures of the company gives it a 1:9 PE ratio
It will get better earnings from both taxess and infastructure and you can all stop being fucking pussies about 4 percent downs and start acting like adults

I think this is the tipping point. Hope everyone ITT loves their job because they'll need it for a while. As a reminder, while it's cool to take advantage of the market, it's not cool to actively wish for market failure. People lose jobs, savings, in many cases their lives are irreparably damaged. Some folks still never recovered after '08 because they took one-too-many bad hits.

In any case, best of luck to everyone.

BNN's daily synopsis was interesting. I've never seen that guy look more engaged it what he was reporting. Phrases like "took a beating" and "taking it on the chin" were invoked. Blue chips got hammered of course. Major sectors all ended down. Then at the end of the synopsis the guy swings over in to weed sector and reported (correctly) that it closed green. I wonder what tomorrow will bring for weed. If some investors are thinking the weed momentum on the run up to legalization this summer will put them in gains territory while everything else is going correction or even bear mode. Self fulfilling prophecy if enough whales believe that to be the case.

It is by definition. Correction is 10% loss on major indices over the course of approximately one week. Crash is 10% loss in a single day. A crash could still happen but i don't think it's likely. There needs to be real economic reason for a crash. Panic about interest rates and bond returns (overreaction) + algos triggering sell orders isn't enough. Posting here for JOE,
JOE, once these bastards at robinhood accept my application I’ll be funding almost immediately and we’ll get our free penny stock or whatever. Fuck paying commissions.
I sent them an email saying to approve my shit pronto so I can buy the dip. I’m sure they’ll have it ready right after the recovery.

>b-b-but avg down!!

wait until next week or youre going to feel like a huge faggot/and or starve to death.

yes, at the very least they'll take a $500m loss on their XIV position - much larger than their Q4 earnings by itself.
