The bad news: "mass adoption of crypto" will probably mean something like Tether with smart contracts. If you're hoping that normies will buy your bitcoin bags at obscene rates when the time comes, I'd rather not be so confident. Why would the powers-that-be prefer something that is subject to manipulations and FUD instead of a market-pegged asset?

The good news: crypto will always remain the go-to place for degenerate gamblers, which means there's always money to be made. ICOs are likely here to stay too. Keep in mind that crypto is full of hysterical low-IQ people, pajeets and kiddos, and that's a GOOD thing. A moderate number of normies doesn't hurt either. That's how you make money. It just becomes a problem when the number of normies becomes too huge and they start complaining about their losses and getting the attention of governments and regulators. That being said, you STILL can make it in crypto regardless of any crashes, collapses and mass panic. Crypto survived Mr. Gox, it will survive everything. If you got burned, get back on your feet and jump into battle like a gladiator! Learn from your mistakes and don't let 'em smash you again. And don't, DON'T get emotionally attached to your assets. Assets deprecate and get covered with shit. But each time there's the next bright thing on the horizon. It's like a platform game. Once you realize that, it doesn't matter what the bitcoin price is.
