It still exists in the underground though. Monero is king of the darknet markets. Pretty much all ICOs failed and the concept died off. Visa and Mastercard implemented their own private blockchains, and some banks have started developing their own as well.

The technology has proven to be useful, but the get rich quick game ended years ago.
