Gen 0 were the first btc mined and are those that are still locked @ 0.001 cent or so

Guess what happens when you unlock a gen 0 right now?

Seriously guys don't fall for the "it's just a meme" bullshitters on here. I had 55 Bitcoin locked up in cold storage back from 2010 when they were worth less than ten cents and I moved them out back when Bitcoin hit 10k and only made like 5 dollars upon selling them.

It's not a meme, what happens is that these were what are called (unbeknownst to me) "zeroth generation bitcoin". To make a long story short, it has to do with the mining process that was involved with mining them back them and how they're mined now, the blocks that these coins exist on in the blockchain actually were actually stamped with the USD price on them at the time and when you store them away that locks the price in. It was a technical bug because that price was supposed to change with time but for Zeroth Generation Blocks if you stored them away the price got locked in because the blocks could no longer interact with the blockchain and update the price. Needless to say I wasn't too happy about this, but what could I do?

I don't want to scare anyone but I think that this might just be a design feature for a lot of new tokens, some of the Zeroth Generation ERC20 tokens also have this feature where the price gets locked, so be careful.

Holy shit. Normies actually thought you could buy a coin and when it moons you just keep all that profit, like making money out of thin air with zero strategy. The whole key is knowing when to lock in the price. Cashing out is a formality.

Best biz meme all year

>> No.6316206

Also I've heard this next bit from a trusted source, gonna tell you guys about it first /biz/, make of it what you want.

Apparently Ledger wants to introduce a new feature in the next generation of their hardware wallets called "recording". Basically what it allows you to do is to record price movement. So say for example you locked your BTC at 19k. Now with the current gen Ledgers if you were to unlock them today, at the next price movement the price would sync up and you would have lost money, right?
What recording allows you to do is add gains on top of your locked coins. So when the price goes back up today for example, instead of "unlock", you would "record". Then if it went up by 10% today, your stored BTC would be worth 20.9k. Of course it would also record losses so you gotta be careful with that. But potentially you can make your BTC worth more than the market price that way.

Crazy stuff those guys at Ledger are planning for the future, I tell ya...

Lurk moar, fagit. Price locking is essential in crypto trading. Why did you even buy a ledger if you didn't use the price locking feature. Fucking newfag.

Nice try but their is no such thing as price locking, you think mother fuckers wouldn't have price locked bitcoincash when they brought in at $2700 in November and it dipped for the next two weeks to $900, anon I have been on biz awhile, you think I wouldn't have seen price locking before, normally I could give a shit about your fud, but this is fucking over normies who actually took the time to Make sure they were safe for fuck sakes, not cool, some lazy anons are even to bothered to do that. They made an investment to make sure their investment was safe, stop fucking with them this one time guys. Clearly mew is not safe y I use at the moment

The "It's a meme" shit won't stop I guess, there is a "generation lock" feature /biz/fucks, essentially locking in the price. Inform yourselves...

>>6316056
I know, all these fucking idiots on social media acting like you just have to hold the coins, so fucking sad.

>>6316206
I heard that rumor too, I don't know how they're going to pull it off... The "generation lock" was a brilliant idea though, it's too bad people didn't unlock their coins value from gen zero coins though... Sucks for a lot of people. They need to be on top of updating their private keys.

Yeah. Not memeing here—addresses that start with 0x are ethereum addresses. What was your transaction ID? Or at least your public address?

>> No.6316468

I locked my bitcoin at 17k. I regret not doing it more.

Locking is way more relevant now because of how normies won't know better. I can sell it as if it was 17k on localbitcoin. Its been awesome since btc went up in price to 2k and up. Most people don't know the value of bitcoin, so they see the price on your nano, you send 'eqivalent' in a paper wallet or when its been locked and you win.
