Because people are fucking poor. How are people surprised these companies are going bankrupt? You are going to start to see more and more of this as late stage capitalism pushes further and further on. Everything is so expensive. Everyone is struggling to get by. Some concessions have to be made so people don't simply starve (slightly increasing wages). This kills some companies who can't afford these higher wages. Other companies die because people can't afford to buy their luxuries. Only mega corporations like Amazon will be able to survive and they will lord over us. Tbh it's probably their end goal.

Lobster, crab, crawfish, clams, oysters, mussels etc all taste like shit or mediocre at best, while still making you feel nauseus and not really full afterwards. Shellsfish and mollusks really are not worth the inflated price in either taste or amont of meat.

And I'm a homecook who loves making food and trying out new stuff. I've tried different recipes because I always wanted to like shellfish, but It's never worth it. Scallops are perhaps the only thing that can be worth it as an entree or for a tapas dinner. Shrimps can be decent in certain pastas.
