Even plenty of younger people have crazy amounts of normalcy bias.
I guess I don't blame them because mainstream media has primed them with a billion scares that never came to fruition.
But I was never worried any of those times and I am now.
I'm almost always right about this kind of stuff, I've been wrong on like 2 predictions ever and people used to listen to my judgment from 2010- about 2017 or 18.
That was the point where woke politics really got to the average city dweller and extreme magaism really got to the average rural or blue collar type guy.
Neither can ever conceive of when the other side is right about a singular issue and it's a vector "they" use to exploit people.
I used to be able to just make a Facebook post with my analysis of things and most people would be like "oh that makes sense." Or at least debate. Now I just get attacked for any position that doesn't fit one of the two narratives.

basically he told me that he had a whole lot of money come through his hands in the past and he squandered it. also got divorce raped it seems because he was talking about a failed marriage and some ex wife he was only married to for a couple of years, he was telling me that his father knew the woman was no good but didn't warn him in advance and he can't understand why, mind you all of of this is probably from 40 or 50 years ago most likely. overall he was just like "if I had saved my money I wouldn't be here right now".... I wanted to tell him that saving doesn't cut it anymore but didn't want to get into doom porn.

it depends on the type of advice. the unsuccesful ones give good advice on what NOT to do, not on what to do. they have learned what screwed them over and to avoid it, but their lessons for success are not really valuable. neither is bezos though. everone must finds his own way to success, if there was a formula for it everyone would be doing it and it would lose its edge. thus the definition of success lies in having an edge in something profitable, something that you know that others dont.

When I spend all my grocery points at the gas pump from the groceries that are twice as expensive as 2019 and get 39 cents off every gallon or whatever, the tank of gas is more expensive than it was last month without the grocery points.
