pretty much, it's all math and logic desu
if you don't understand either of those, you will never be able to program for shit
plus programming is 99% trail and fail/practical and only 1% is taught/theoretical
still i only learned a bit in 2012 to make some pages and develop shitty mario fangames in game maker, so i don't consider myself THAT knowledgeable in the topic
now i barely do anything like that, i still look for interesting stuff hidden in pages and sometimes do retarded shit for fun, bot not that important. i mostly work outside, game at night and invest on some memecoin or do trades with dextools for the fuck of it with what i can afford to lose, been doing good tho

I think it was once covid ended and people began to resume life as normal, tech companies boomed a lot during covid since people were online all the time and were given free money to spend on top of it.
Once that was over I guess tech companies realised they hired too many people due to the boom and decided to even out hence the mass layoffs. After covid there was also a lot of financial stuff going down with interest rates, cost of living, etc, this caused more adjustments to be needed. Now with AI and automation being pushed along with further outsourcing while mass importing things have just gotten more competitive whilst companies having reasons to pay less due to so many applicants.

Tech was one giant rugpull right out of the gate. It was the one industry not hopelessly controlled by boomers or being diluted by cheap foreign labor, but once corpos seized firm control it was game over. A computer science degree was considered a gateway to a bright and profitable future about 20 years ago. Now it is about as worthless as a liberal arts degree.

my nigga, being a codemonkey a.k.a. developer is just ONE of the many roles that there are on IT, and one of the simplest out there. you do realize that, right?
Im really satisfied with my infrastructure analyst job where I have to mess with zero code aside from Terraform and Shell. and I earn more than most developers at a mid-level position.
