Those numbers are crazy. I know VERY few anywhere near them, and they are considered well off. All of my co-workers are working second jobs while management sympathetically turns a blind eye to it if somebody suddenly calls in “sick” or is super low productive on a day or two. Even makes excuses for everybody in general. None of us can afford new cars and used cars are stupidly expensive. The talk of leasing cars is being tossed around. Yes, that’s right. While the media talks about people being unable to afford homes the reality is we cannot afford cars. One co-worker is getting driven to work by alternating co-workers who live near them.
