There's just one little problem with your theory: the validators aren't selling. They have no reason to sell.

You see, gas costs don't actually represent the value of the work being done. They represent demand for blockspace. There is effectively NO COST for processing these transactions. So it's not a subsidy. Validators don't need to sell their rewards to stay online. They can just get richer and richer.

It's an infinite money glitch. Solana rises into the hundreds of billions of dollars, people keep flocking to the token because number go up. The validators all become billionaires and eventually trillionaieres, and that value is real, because they are the ones securing the most valuable, most used blockchain on the planet.

Solana was always the chosen one. Why do you think all these VCs attached themselves to it?

Because it is the shit coin with the highest market cap and unsustainable inflation. Its market cap has already reached the same level as the last bullrun's peak. The price per coin is 70% of what it was then. At 80 Billion market cap, I don't think it has much more room to pump. Maybe a 2x but I think that is pushing it. It is also constantly crashing which makes it unusable for anything other than the shit coin casino that it is.

Is it worth throwing in $1000? Back during FTX times I got discouraged from buying because of all the outages and the fuckery from SBF (Scam Bankrun Fraud) at the time. Ever since I've been watching it become more and more trusty and legitimate. I've been watching from the sidelines saying

Now I'm actually starting to think it will be a genuine ETH killer some day.

I don't really get excited about $5k but I'll take it I suppose.
I've been only buying BTC for at least a year and a half and now I'm out of the altcoin loop. I have probably about 10-20k just for alts this year but I can't find anything that's tempting and also not on Etherium. Can't be bothered with the headache of ETH.
It was simple when I was just buying BTC but since it crossed the 45k mark I have stopped, and now I'm left with thousands of dollars that I don't have a clue what to do with.

>Likely $1000 yes
No. SOL's market cap is already way too high compared to other similar coins. Retail newbies aren't going to pay that much for something they don't understand when they can buy other similar coins that will be shilled just as hard for much cheaper. I don't like AVAX as a long term investment because its just an ETH clone but anyone with a brain can see it has more room to pump than SOL. SOL is way over valued.
>ETH also has hanging issues, like it is today.
SOL had a 5 hr outage last month. It has had multiple similar outages during and since the last bullrun. It is no where near stable enough for any real world applications where money is involved. Please tell us the last time something like that happened on ETH.
>>58020975
>No outages but $100 in transaction fee
This is what L2's are for. SOL will never compete with ETH nor will its market cap ever come close to ETH. It will die a slow death from inflation long before it ever comes close to ETH. ETH doesn't have to mint coins to pay its validators like SOL does. The only thing less stable than Sol's blockchain is its tokenomics. Every time you think your saving money because of the small transaction fee, just remember you are paying a little for everyone else's transactions through inflation.

L2s are a pain in the ass. Development for the EVM is expensive and you give to hide as much logic as possible off chain to not pay exorbitant fees for deployment and writing. All around a garbage system. SOL isn’t stable. Crypto is being built on the foundation of garbage.

Inflation only happens when demand doesn't outstrip supply, which hasn't happened since the very bottom of the bear market. That's when smart anons like myself went and bought the coin and are now up more than 10x.
