The ECB had their December moment that Powell had just with that release of their projection.

Inflation is expected to be 2,6% for feb 2024. It was 8,5% last year feb.

March 2023 was 6,9%. Let's see if March 2024, will be above 2,6% thus resulting in the same thing the US just had. Inflation is delayed in the EU. Later acceleration back in 2021-2022, later peak. Thus the yoy is different than with the US. US readings are now worse, cause the yoy effect is weakening. For the EU that would happen in around june, right when they want to cut. (june 2023 cpi was 5,5%)

>FRANKFURT (Reuters) - European Central Bank policymakers debated raising banks' mandatory reserves to 2% from 1% of their deposits at their meeting on Thursday as part of their fight against high inflation, two sources close to the matter told Reuters.

>The move would mop up more cash from the banking system and therefore contribute to the ECB's efforts to raise borrowing costs and cool inflation, but it would also prove expensive for banks as those reserves aren't remunerated.

no. CASH in hand is the most secure asset. its the whole point of stocks and playing this stupid game. 100 shares gives you the power to sell insurance on your ownership for cash money.

the general metaphor is owning just a few shares is like trying to drive a car with only the accelerator.
options give you a brake and steering wheel.

not exactly the chinese implementation is shit.

that said, that kind of a system is delving into violations of contract and destruction of "wealth" and value.
which while numbers help its mostly the realm of word boys.
its dipping into the "justice" side of values. which are variate between people and also deals with subjectivism. this is usually absolved in price. but if theres a price differential, today rather than a pound of flesh, resolution and injury can be absolved with time.
but that said, justice collapses, its not a sustainable thing. it requires a relatively static environment. stealing a bicycle is wrong, but if it costs pennies to produce a bicycle a lot of the argument is lost. Its like a man stealing a napkin or ketchup packets.
