Yes, there's malware for linux too, but it does lower your odds of pwnage somewhat.
One of the metamask's design decisions is that your private keys are stored on your device.
So malware running on your system can patiently wait until you type your metamask password again to capture all your keys and send them abroad, after which everything of value will quickly get drained.
Also, copy/pasting crypto addresses will often result in different addresses being pasted, to keep you on your toes.

I'd take that money out of there.. I use to work for them and they do periodic check ins on people who hold high amounts of crypto. They request info on where you live and your income if you don't provide it they disable your deposits and withdraws, so your funds are stuck until you give up the info.
