emergency funds are memes because your money is just getting burned by inflation unless you have a bank with a high APY, but even then you could get better returns with any old index fund. if you have an emergency expense just throw it on a credit card, then liquidate some shit later to pay it off.

Used to keep 10k tucked away but realized it wasn't important outside of a world-ending event that'd make my money useless anyway. Now I just keep 2k in a money market account and if I get fucked for more than that, I'll draw it from my credit card then pay that off in the month between either my crypto or regular stocks - whichever hasn't lost money recently. Selling my position isn't ideal but that money's been rotting for years now
