Between enthusiasm and greed. The STF model has been an accurate predictor in past cycles, and it's one the whales generally use these days to time their entries and exits. I'd use that for a more accurate measure of where in the cycle we are.

Somewhere along this line. At the maximum we are at media attention but most likely we are nearing "first sell off".

And it is coming. It always does.

People aren't as vocal about it as they used to be. This isn't a blackbox anymore, people grasp the concept of the blockchain/internet banking system which exists external to government... the problem is people buy bitcoin to make money, and something being $72,000 after having gone up 400% very quickly doesn't make people feel like they're buying the bottom.
The reason stocks like to split is to prevent that psychological barrier from building up in the average person, though it has nothing to do with the actual market cap or value... Just look at Berkshire Hathaway stock ~$600,000.
People want to get rich buying bitcoin, that's why they buy. Well the people trying to get rich buy tops, and the people who actually do get rich don't, this is a 100% purely psychological asset since the demand isn't going to come from any kind of use or application, so I'm assuming people now need to shoot for a million/BTC to start feeling like it's worth jumping in... but that would put the market cap at like Japanese National Debt levels so not exactly a screaming buy rn for the average person who doesn't think of it as money; 1 sat per coffee or something

>People want to get rich buying bitcoin
This isn't 2013. BTC is too big to give a quick 10x now, nobody's in it for a quick buck. I'm in BTC for the same reason I'm in gold, I want it in my diversified long term portfolio. And now with etfs more people than ever have the same approach and seek 1-5% exposure to btc for a long term investment. The era of yoloing poorfags trying to get rich is over for btc, that's what shitcoins are for.

I don't think it'll be quick, but a 10x+ is definitely on the table. See >>57955740
If it mirror gold in any way, Bitcoin is going to go bananas without the ability to just "add more supply".

>just like every other time
If the fed prints money, buys bonds (QE) and the interest rates go up instead of down then that will be a pretty radically different world for every human being on the planet.
>>57957241
Bitcoin is still about getting rich nobody just wants to own it they want it to go up. If Bitcoin were about to go to 40k would you still buy it? Central banks buy gold without giving a shit about the price because they want the gold they don't care about the dollars or fiat. People buy guns because they want the guns, food, gasoline etc... people buy bitcoin and are very interested in knowing the market price at any given moment.
I don't think people grasp what they might be doing to themselves if they actually have to use Bitcoin to buy something a lot of people want to buy, if things are not smooth sailing, if the interest rate is 20% again, like in 1980.
