>it's one of the hardest sectors, otherwise the institutions would be all over it. george soros territory
>I don't know if there is a more fake and gay manipulated type of trading than forex
>requires extreme knowledge of geopolitics
>must know autism levels of TA
>low earnings to effort ratio
>requires massive leverage

It honestly depends. Forex, as an asset class, has no value. The rates are set by big banks. All forex rates are manipulated to some degree, and where the most concentration of longs or shorts are, is where the banks will apply stoploss hunting. The worst pairs are USD pairs and especially the EURUSD. Seriously check out this guy's video on the topic
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lvq0t0eQOG4&list=PLPqWQo6-TXfHyC12MRHK5doA5oUeGwpkV&index=2

Unless you are George Soros tier, long term investing is going to be hard (but even then, it wouldn't hurt to diversify a few dollars into other currencies to be safe over a long time horizon). Most successful forex traders do trend trading on the daily charts, maybe 4h and maybe weekly. Reversal (momentum) trading is a fool's game, and because it has no intrinsic value, overbought/oversold doesn't exist either. But you combine a few indicators that cover your entry, exit, confirmation, volume, and baseline and it's pretty safe

Besides that, you have to be able to manage your risk. You avoid news days like FOMC meetings with USD pairs, you only lose 2% per bad trade at worst due to tight stops (and even less with a good exit indicator), that kind of shit. I love TA autism

>Logan's comments were in response to a research paper documenting that the effort underway by central banks to reduce their asset holdings has had much less impact on markets than the corollary expansion of balance sheets during weakening economic conditions.
Logan said she felt the "asymmetry" was largely due to the economic context, with crises coming on fast and "quantitative easing" rolled out quickly as well; tightening programs, by contrast, are typically telegraphed far in advance leaving market adjustments likely more muted and harder to estimate.

>Logan did not estimate a stopping point for the balance sheet runoff, but did side with the view, mentioned in minutes of the Fed’s January meeting, that a “slower runoff” would make the adjustment easier for banks and possibly allow a lower balance sheet overall.

Shitposting aside, I think everyone should have some exposure to crypto, maybe 1% or more just depending on your risk tolerance (and everyone here is more risk-on, of course). With the bitcoin etfs being issued and some vendors like Blackrock having custodianship over their own supply it creates an air of legitimacy, which means things like pension funds (especially Canadian/Ontario teacher pensions, those people have a lot of AUM) will have biweekly/monthly contributions, which is incredibly bullish long term. BTC/ETH are usually regarded as the gold/silver in crypto. Then you get shit like btc halving soon

Compare that with PMs, there's about 7 billion people, 6 billion oz of gold and 3.5 billion oz of silver, which means the average person should own at least 0.86oz gold and 0.5oz silver. If you have more than that amount, you're technically wealthier than average and if all mining stopped, that means you have the wealth that other people would have. If you use this same metric (assuming BTC remains the standard), there's at best 21m coins so about 0.03 BTC/person.

0.03 BTC = $2010
0.86oz gold = $1858
.5oz silver = $12

Orders are filled on a "best effort" basis. Among other things, they'll prefer filling orders for the same price based on timestamps and probably prioritize standard lot sizes (100). I don't know how broker/dealer backends work.
But in any case, if the system is overwhelmed, yes, it can move well past your stoploss. It's mostly apparently on low volume, high volatility assets, like pennyshit or OTC/PINX tickers, but can happen on extreme shitcoins and cfds as well. Market orders are also dangerous for this reason; in particular, I don't mind using market buy/sell to enter a trade during normal hours, but I would never rely on one for exiting a position

A good rule of thumb is to do 110-age and that tells you the % of risky assets you should have. For example, if you're 30, you should have 80% risk, and 20% defense. Another popular one is 60-30-10 (equities, bonds, cash).
Many people focus on the upside and not the downside. You don't want to throw it all into a fund in one transaction, either. Set like 25-30k aside and do like $5k gold and drop $25k into a 4-5% bond. If you put the 80% into riskier stuff make sure you have defined profit and stop levels and maybe even put 1-2% into high risk like NVDA

Larger accounts are usually treated defensively. They're not designed to grow, so much as protect the wealth you already have. Curious to know how they structured their fund/strategy. If it's only a 3.6% increase, it sounds like they went extremely defensive, since even short dated bonds perform that well. At best, they popped it into consumer defensive, utilities, and bonds, and at worst they used it to leverage their own trading (unlikely)

That is, even if you have the discipline to DCA through/into the crash, your average price may still be higher than if you just lump summed, say, 3 months before.

Midwittery. Their reasoning is "well, you shouldn't have 0% but I don't know what % is correct. Oh, I know, 1%!".

If they thought things through they'd say, for example, silver's a dead asset and should be 0% until WW3 WMD's are getting rolled out (then you may need physical, depending on your location and the WMD's in question). Crypto in a self-custodied wallet should be at least enough for you to rebuild your life in a foreign country. As an investment, this part of the cycle, it should be maxed out until you're on the verge of panic selling every day, but held until Bitcoin hits triple digits.

Gold should be 2%.

forex is hard. I'm not going to pretend to fathom it but you cant just look at gdp and inflation and other common metrics. Stuff like big mac index and purchasing power are usually not accounted for. GDP is a better metric of the labour produced by either 1 hour of minimum wage or labour produced to get an apple from seed->store->your hands (and every step between that I skipped)
To many's perspective, China may have had a better currency than the US for years now because of how much further less CNY takes you
Regional pricing of steam prices and phone in app purchase conversions could probably give better gdp estimates when extrapolated from rather than whatever jew phyics the feds are doing
