Dear /smg/,
Once I understood how it all worked, life became a lot easier. Not perfect, but easier. Money solves a lot of problems but it's true what they say, things are just things and don't make you feel happy. I actually feel much happier light on my feet, traveling with a small backpack to sunny locations (I come from a dull place with constant clouds and rain).
I've met interesting people, kept it low key and just told everyone I was just freelancing tech remotely. I haven't really kept contact with old friends or family (I was treated badly during my youth), so that's a weight off my shoulders too. I've definitely gained confidence, and maybe that attracted girls. I look healthier too, now that I have less stress and more time to work out and cook nice food for myself. I've picked up playing instruments again. It's cheaper to give that second hand guitar away after 3 months of use because it's more expensive to take it with me on the plane, and it's a burden.

Definitely gradually and the build up of capital took a few years.
