I fitmaxx and am basically at my natty peak after 10+ years. I make a lot of money, wfh, and push to get better at my job. I love investing and am always looking for new ways to keep growing and compounding my wealth. Golf is my game and I'm always trying to improve at that. I'm not trying to brag or anything, and I'm sincerely asking for your opinion. But I work from home right now as a consultant at a "prestigious" firm, so I set all my own hours and can skip days whenever I want as long as I answer to my clients, work about 1-2 hours per day in reality, have a wife and kid at home with me, and my salary is about ~200k per year depending on the economy. It's a "good" job and I feel like I'm getting paid for not doing much. Quitting this kind of job and putting in effort as an entrepreneur feels like it could be suicide. I'm actually terrified to give up this kind of job, even to change companies, because I'm doubtful other opportunities would be as easy as this.

With that in mind, would you still recommend I pursue becoming an online entrepreneur or just stick to my job? Is this still prison or what do you think?

I guess it depends on your ambitions, you definitely are a step above the people that need to go to the office, maybe you could start a upwork profile and increase your income, if you have that flexibility during the day, would be easy.

But again, selling your hours is not a good business model, you cant scale, your income depends only on this one job, all the things that you probably already understand.

I also quited a "prestigious" job in my field as an engineer, but i have no children, so was in a position to take more risks.

One thing i know for sure, if you quit and give 100% of yourself to it, you will not fail, so the question is, if you quit, do you believe you could work 10-12h a day everyday for months, maybe making no money at all, and still push foward?

You don't need to waste 5 figures to start an online business, something tells me you had an idea and threw all of your money into it, that's not the advice any one gave here, and something I would never do as well, it's a huge hit or miss, almost any online business that works, should be able to work with minimal investment, both of my ventures took no more than a few hundred dollars to start, and the rest was just a time investment.

sounds like you probably created a service business, which is time-based. At that point, I rather just stick to my remote job. If I'm making a business, it's to be scalable and that requires a lot more than a few hundred bucks for marketing/testing demand and the minimum order quantity to get started (e-commerce).

I do agree though that you don't need 5 figures. I had some small wins in the beginning for one idea and bet a little too much that it would scale, then realized the competition was way too high and it wasn't worth the time to keep it going compared to focusing on my job + crypto.

no, I stated above, I have an instagram account and an electronic online store.

I spent money to get the store and domain, started dropshipping at first, and moved to white label with inventory.

Did not have to spend a lot in ads at the beginning because I used the instagram page to drive traffic to my store.

I did not reinvent the wheel, I just did what tons of other people were already doing, but I did better, you don't need to aim to become some mark zuckerberg to make money
