Coinbase is a public company now ("safe" for investors), and base chain is going to be big this year. Can we discuss projects on base that have some potential utility or interesting mechanisms and are not only meme coins? I'm also interested in any new projects that are launching as well. Here are some to get us started (alphabetical):

Aerodrome: Base DEX, copy of Velodrome on optimism

Aviator: This has already been discussed a lot lately, but they are making a bridge to base

Circle: Maybe like safemoon for base? Not much info, but I think it is burning LP instead of using taxes

Do you mean without using ETH L1 or without using Ethereum at all? I guess you can sell on Coinbase, buy ETH, and bridge it but I'm assuming that's not what you want to do. For anybody else reading this, the official Coinbase bridge on their website looks much cheaper than what is in the wallet, I am not sure why that is the case.

I included circle which is more of a gimmick than utility. So we can discuss those as well. I'm just not interested in the pure memecoins (MOCHI, TYBG, etc.) because I feel like they've already been posted a lot and have their own threads.

They claim to be the number one dex on base. I think you can buy it directly on Coinbase (which defeats the purpose of DEX?). There is some kind of long-term staking mechanism that I was hoping someone else could explain.

i'm building a donations platform that works with base, optimism, celo, polygon, avax and arbitrum (along with flare xdc soroban and the XRPL evm sidechain) but it's just in beta. it's going to be cool though. get paid for doing stuff to give back to your community and generating impact.

Okay, I was hoping there would be more discussion of Aerodrome and Circle because those are the 2 I was looking at today. I just picked three more random tokens off of basescan:

BTRST: some talent network, has a lot of its volume on base but maybe it is only arbitrage. brief look at tokenomics from 2021 and it doesn't look great, probably because it is a company. Supported by coinbase ventures though.

SEAM: Bridge and DEX. Probably also bad tokenomics looking at the chart/diluted market cap, but it does have a much higher market cap than Aerodrome. It has a fantom bridge by the way, but when I tried it said no routes found.

Basewap: another dex claiming to be the number one dex on base

I just realized it's probably because Aero is on Base (and Velodrome is also on an L2). I'm too used to ETH charts. You will see the same type of chart on Solana because the trading fees are low. Do you know if we're supposed to stake Aero if we buy it?

I've been holding this for a while now. They seem to have figured out all the issues going on in web3 gaming atm and are building an all in one package to resolve it. Their history and connections is the icing on top. Definitely one of the more bullish projects this run
