Can someone tell me if my understanding of covered calls is retarded? I have around 600 shares of SOXL and I see that I could, for example, sell four 4/5 $44 contracts @ $2.50 and come away with about $1k in premium. At that point, I just hold to expiration and cross my fingers that SOXL stays below $44, right? And if it goes substantially lower than where it is now, I just buy the contracts back at a lower price? It feels like almost pure gambling but the idea of generating an extra grand for essentially doing nothing is enticing

you can do that before the expiry, or let it expire worthless and just make the full premium

if it goes over, and your cost basis is below 44, then you're still making money (the premium + the difference between curr price and 44 * shares), but you'll have your upside capped if it moons to 50 or whatever

the other aspect is that you are kinda forced to hold on to the shares. If you want to sell, you'll first have to buy back your call.

I'm kinda new to writing CCs, I try to just sell weeklies to make a small amount of money from my long-term positions. Remember: a weekly 0.1% is 5.33% APY.

Its not that fuel cells area meme its that the h2 light duty vehicles(cars) are. Mainly this is because of the pressure you have to go(~12,000psi) to and the stress that a vehicle puts on its power train.

Forklifts are a good application of h2 though.

Wow anon that's incredible, nearly 1bil in cash and no debt???? They must be deploying that cash to expand their market share in the physical media space!
>NFT market shutdown
>500 non profitable stores closed in 8 months
>Videogame consoles no longer being manufactured with disk drives
Well at least Ryan can now use the cash to invest in profitable equties to try and get a return on that cash, because it not being deployed is not bullish at all. Companies need a pathway for growth. The videogame pawnshop has 0 growth without new capeshit films licensing new funko pops.
>BUT BUT BUT BUT WE WILL BE A HOLDING COMPANY NOW WITH CAPTAIN DOG FOOD CONTROLLING THE PORTFOLIO
That's a hedgefund retard, you know the people you love to make the enemy. You're going to invest in a ticker that actively is closing hundreds of locations and wants to pivot to becoming a hedgefund that sells funko on the side? Go for it. Just search "debt death spiral" as you watch that cash dwindle on every single earnings release.

>C3.ai was founded in 2009 by Thomas Siebel as "C3".[1] Originally the "C" in the company's name was a reference to "carbon" and the "3" was a reference to "measure, mitigate and monetize" because the company's original goal was to help manage corporate carbon footprints.[2] For some time in 2016 the company was named C3IoT and before that was briefly named C3 Energy.[3][1] The company went public in 2020.[1] Following their IPO C3.ai faced market skepticism and criticism, including that Siebel liquidated shares worth hundreds of millions of dollars soon after the IPO.[4]
