I did it for 5+ years watched more talented people get passed over , quit, or get a real job. I still know people in the scene and it just gets sadder. Also a couple of them died mostly suicide or suicidal lifestyles. Im gonna do some open mics again for s and gs. But you have to be good at marketing yourself. If a comic is talented he doesnt know how to market himself. If a comic is bad he constantly is trying to get on shows and inviting his friends out. Its a real catch 22.

AI doesnt know how to deliver a line. Stand up has to be seen live. Sure a standup special is funny but its never as good as it is live. Its a completely different experience and most of the money is made doing live shows. You only do everything else to get people to show up to your show. You could be super funny but because no one has seen you on TV no one will care. You have to get asses in the seats some how. I paid 50$ to see my friend perform he got paid 0$ everyone wants to pay you in "exposure" once you can demand pay you become rich. Its all or nothing type shit filled with collectivist liberals that hate each other and wont do collective action. Its kinda funny.

Yes, pure joke comedians are dead anyway so even the best AI that wrote the funniest jokes wouldn't make it and AI can't replace great crowdwork. Work on that and you'll be good.

Thats not stand up comedy. Being likeable and doing political shit for a crowd on your side is also not stand up comedy. Patrice O neal didnt do crowd work, he set people up with questions and already knew the anwser. You do crowd work when youve run out of material . If you dont have something to say get off stage. Ive done crowd work it can be fun sure but you cant ever use it again. Comics have an act with some improv peppered in, the best ones dont improv at all. Stav is not a stand up hes a fat loser that was on a podcast. His stand up is low teir and his fan base lets him coast on his mediocrity
