They were in the thick of vax hysteria, covid is a hoax, biden is destroying the country, etc. They were extremely bearish on equities and crypto as a result. I went home and bought all I could get my hands on. This year, I will visit them again. I am sitting on a nice return now and they're still convinced everything is fucked so far, but I want to guage their sentiment when BTC regains ATH, as they're already dead wrong on SPY. I do not vote republican typically as I am a (classical) liberal, but I agree that people on the far left are similarly oblivious to how the economy's really going, and how it actually functions. From what I have witnessed, they think everything is fucked for different reasons - because they and their friends are all underemployed and they think their difficulty finding a job outside of retail is universal. Regardless of your stance on social issues, I have learned that you must have your finger on the pulse of far left and far right sentiment to understand who is going to become your exit liquidity this time.
