No sane person would use CCIP and introduce additional trust assumptions when CCTP exists.

CCIP uses CCTP, you're just adding another trust assumption (Chainlink and its DONs).

>> No.57579583

>>57579565
>CCIP uses CCTP
lmao no, CCIP is integrated into CCTP making it more streamlined.

Whether you're using CCTP alone, or CCTP with the CCIP integration, ultimately the data that triggers the burn always comes from Circle's own centralized API.

https://ccip.chain.link/ and look at last 5 transactions from the last couple of minutes.
See the transaction costs add up to around 8 link.
go back a few minutes later and can see a whole new bunch of transactions. more link used.

using very small date, back of the napkin math tells me it is probably doing around $20,000 a day.

dune dashboard has clearly not been working for a while, if it ever was (have no idea about that) .

From an article a little while back:

>It should be noted that even though the assets will be auto-converted into LINK, this may not significantly impact the price of LINK in the short term as Chainlink plans to release 7% of non-circulating supply into the market over the coming quarters. This was primarily led to support users & node operators from dramatically elevated LINK volatility & prices as new changes to the staking mechanics are set to introduce an 80% increase in its pool cap that will account for 8% of circulating supply.

>Moreover, if the price of LINK were to increase, and thereby increase gas costs, CCIP users would be expected to drive an increase in buy-side pressure. However, should it continue to increase, it can be expected that node operators receiving LINK incentives will bring about supply pressure as they realise their service fees into other assets.

My takeaway is basically in order for everything to run as intended, the team will manipulate their dumps to continue suppressing pumps. This would also give new entities (if they're actually coming) more time to buy the coin at a lower price.

>> No.57582994

>>57582974
I'm not reading all that but what I mean is that no one is going to sell link for USD not that it was a note payment instead of link being burnt
