People give stuff away for free all the time, especially furniture. Never buy a TV stand or drawers or anything like that, always some going free locally.
Nothing wrong with 2nd hand in most cases, stop being pussy over a scratch and get that 80% discount from new.
You do NOT need the latest phone, tablet, computer.
Never gamble, you are just throwing money away.
Supplements are a waste of time.
Bulk cook cheap foods on a Sunday and store in tubs for the following week.
Fix things that are broken, there's a YouTube tutorial for almost everything now.

Also, learn car stuff. It's not hard. I'm not talking complex shit like fixing your own transmission, I mean stuff like basic maintenance, replace brakes, etc. you save money doing it yourself and free yourself from having to buy expensive cars or new cars. The amount of people who are afraid of a car with 100k miles is insane. Literally a few weekends and a few thousands in parts and youve got a solid car that will go another 100k with nothing but oil changes, brakes, and tires.
Even if you don't want to go down that route, it helps to be an educated consumer. I love seeing a mechanics face go sour when I tell him exactly what's wrong and what needs to be fixed instead of letting him string me along for thousands of dollars of repairs and time.
