Thats not how coin valuation works retard.
Buying the raw metal for minting costs a ton of money.
Minting costs a ton of money.
Distributing the coinage also costs a ton of money.
So by this logic the coinage is implicitly worth the value of the labor it took to get in your hands.
Except its not. It's explicit value is lower than it's implied value (implicit) because if it wasn't then minting coinage would be deflationary.
Its deflationary to price coins at a fair price since it would devalue the fiat alongside it. Why transact with a lower value mark when you can use a denomination that is simply higher in value?
If you trade all your life's fiat for coins and melt them down to the individual raw metals they are composed of, they will be worth many times more than the implied value.
Thats not in the future that's now.
So imagine when shit actually hits the fan and USD fiat becomes so inflated that coins are implicitly worth more than the paper bills we used to say were worth more.
Collect coins. Collect shiny metals. Also collect a ton of shitty common coins for your great great grandkids to melt down at a much later time.
Coins will never ever be obsolete because the entire world thrives on coins even more than paper dollars.
