57533057 No.57533057 [Reply] [Original]

Let's say BTC pumps to 55k during this February and while that happens LINK pumps to $35. Everyone who bought LINK between $5 and $30 profited. But then BTC starts gigadumping from 55k to 25k which causes LINK to fall to $5 (it was $5 when BTC was 25k).

IN THAT SCENARIO, the LINK holders can't do anything right? Because their coins are locked like Bitconnect holders coins were locked (when BTC dumped from the 20k ATH), right? The LINK holders, when the BTC dump from 55k begins, even if they see it's an obvious BTC top and they know BTC is shitting itself, they can't secure their LINK profits right??? So if BTC dumps like that, then all the profits for those who bought LINK between $5 and $30 is undone and they couldn't do anything to stop that from happening.

That's fucked up.

So in other words you're saying their coins ARE locked, like Bitconnect coins were?

You'd still be in profit obviously (unless you made some massive losses from other buys). I'm asking specifically if those who bought recently would be unable to protect themselves in the scenario described in the OP text.

pretty similar. There is a month long period to unstake, at which point it's possible you miss selling when you'd like to.

also as a rule of thumb, whenever you can't get straighforward answers to your questions from a crypto community, you're asking good questions. Most of the responses here are from offended cult members where this is one of their first investments and therefore they haven't figured out to separate emotions

>2 weeks

is it? This is from the FAQ on their site

>At any point in time, stakers can initiate a withdrawal of their staked LINK from v0.2, marking the beginning of a 28-day cooldown period. Once the cooldown period is complete, a seven-day claim window begins wherein staked LINK can be withdrawn. During the claim window period, the staker can withdraw all or a portion of their staked LINK. Any staked LINK that is not withdrawn during the claim window will automatically re-enter v0.2. Therefore, if a staker changes their mind after initiating a withdrawal of their staked LINK, they do not have to take any action and will not lose their spot in v0.2.

>coins are locked
Only if they put all of their LINK in for staking for the meagre 4% yearly return it offered. Which i did not do. So it depends on whether they did that or not.

How is this a good question? He can get the answer reading the staking docs. No one is taking it seriously just as no one would take a grown man seriously if he asked if cars would run efficiently on square tires. There is a wait period to unstake, once it is up you have a window about 1/3 of the wait period to withdraw within. If you dont use it, it goes back into lock up. Its a shitty question. Start the withdraw process now if youre worried. This thread wont make pool space.

Yes, you're understanding it correctly, LINK has become the new Bitconnect. Linkies can not sell in the event of a crash.

>> No.57535193

>>57533971
the lockup is one thing. it makes no sense considering the ETH/USD feed worked just fine prior to staking. people have gotten used to the lockup scam so you can't blame CLL for hopping on the bandwagon. they even tried for a two year lockup (kek) when they first announced staking v0.1 but then backtracked. the ramp up to receive your rewards is the actual hilarious part and seems like some sort of carrot on a stick humiliation ritual.
