2017 bullrun old fag here. i bought link under 50 cents just after ICO ended, accumulating more and more until 2020. i loaded up on leverage through aave just before the bullrun kicked off, eventually leading to losing 3 million to cascading liquidation slippage as FTX unwound with -250k in debt (i was using credit card 0% balance transfer offers as a form of additional leverage as well).

this time im strapped with 25k~ squared up linkies, 15k of which are staked. rest are cold wallet'd, plus cash on goybase just in case a kikery crash happens again to slurp additional linkies. zero leverage. credit cards are paid off. this time im ready for anything.

never give up, thank you /biz/.

lost everything.
paid off roughly $80k in CC debt.
didnt kms by realizing that for me money was a meme: before having the unrealized gains i was dreaming of houses, cars, watches, other stuff. once the money was there and i could buy a brand new rolex a hundred times over but didnt i realized it was never about the money, it was about attaining what that money represented in the abstract hypothetical sense. ie, hypothetically being able to buy a rolex and not flinch from the financial cost was always the goal subconsciously, not the actual rolex itself.

i paid off by simply working, saving every dime dave ramsey style and paying down debt slowly, highest interest first. no BS spending. after that i started coomulating. having roughly $100k salary after taxes and link being hardstuck under $10 for 3 years is how the math worked out.

question about the balance transfers you did
did you just transfer balances from stuff you had to buy, or did you transfer a balance from a card that you had a $0 balance on, bringing it negative, then get a check from the bank?

mostly the latter, with the exception of one card: an amazon card without a balance transfer option that also had a nice chunk of $10k balance to use. in that case i bought digital amazon gift cards en masse from amazon com and resold them at about -15% hit on some random sketchy asian resale site, and then used those funds to buy more crypto.

if youre going to use balance transfer stuff i suggest a minimum 12 month term, 0% ongoing APR, 5% up front APR.

ideally: 24 month term, 0% apr, <=3% up front APR

in hindsight credit card trickeries like this are the best kind of leverage because if you really fuck shit up you can simply not pay, ala debt maxing sam hyde style. or just pay eventually when you can, without cutting into your 'holdings'

the only thing that's been holding me back from transferring ~$20k on one of my $0 balance cards to a balance transfer card is the worry that the bank will catch on to me and cite some terms that are in something i agreed to. any chance you know if that's possible?

My brother in Christ, you finally got it. You are destined to make it and because of that, you must stay healthy and ready. You bear the responsibility of using your wealth to better your sitiation, that of your descendants (ie. giving them the best life and education without turning them into noveau rich druggy cunts) and then, improve society.

Congratulations fren

ill simply be staking for the next 5-10 years. ive seen enough traditional end boss legacy systems embrace chainlink specifically in their research and development to be able to comfortably close my eyes and hold for the next decade.

>>57483862
dont think so. from their perspective youre not doing anything strange or sketchy. they just see you paying $20k * 0.03~0.05% up front, with some non zero likelihood you fuck up by not paying a monthly minimum or the full amount by the end of the term to then slap you with the ridiculous 25%+ rollover APR. ive done probably a dozen balance transfers over the last half decade and used most of the funds for crypto, from several checking accounts to several crypto exchanges. never had a phone call, email, text, nor letter hinting they were "on to me" somehow or trying to trick me into new terms i couldnt see beforehand

just to be clear, what I mean exactly is going negative on a credit card balance by a very large amount like $20k just to ask them to cut you a check.

>> No.57483973

>>57483945
oh, that specifically ive done as well about half a dozen times, all relatively large numbers over 10k, never had an issue. you simply call them using the # on the back of the card navigate the menu to a basic customer rep and point out the negative balance. they will just confirm your address and then send out the check. the checks usually arrived within 7-14 days.

Do you have a house? All I want is an ok house paid off. You literally have 50x what I have, truly insane. If I had that much I think I'd buy a 500k house. But you do you understandably.

>> No.57484169

Yep. I originally had 100k LINK, i sold 15k at around $40 and used the 600k to buy a 1.2 mil house and land. I work normally too, which pays the mortgage. Once LINK peaks above $50 again, i'll sell my stack for 4-5 milly and put it in a vanguard ETF, and chill.

no goal desu as far as a number goes. my advice is just focus on amassing $100k net worth even at the cost of diminishing returns on all other aspects of life, including friends and personal hobbies. outlook and opportunities change completely once you reach a critical mass of money, and for most people that is around 100k~

for any random anons that are lurking here, this is the reason you shouldn't buy in on link, lots of OGs with 50k+ that are just waiting to dump on your head, this is why it only reached $50 during the biggest bull run ever and there are still 2017/2018 ogs with 50k+ stacks waiting to offload, and if link somehow reaches $100 (extremely unlikely) then you will get the 10k sui stacklets starting to offload, so at the absolute best you're looking at a 5x, do with this information what you will.
