The ideal billionaire isn't a narcissist. He's a sociopath. Sociopaths know how to balance their own ambitions/cold rationality with manipulation of people and their world. They are capable of empathy, seeing what other people want, what they want to hear, and that is how they master manipulation.

Narcissists on the other hand are incapable of empathy. They don't understand what other people want, or want to hear, and fail at manipulation, even if they try it. They're basically stunted and incapable of growth because in their own head they've already won, they've convinced themselves of it. Important distinction.
