57150226 No.57150226 [Reply] [Original]

I can't do this. My relationships suffer because I no longer have the time or energy to make plans, my living space is an uncomfortable mess because I can only clean while feeling burnt out once every couple of weeks, I haven't been doing sports for about 3 months because I have to get up so early every day that I'm exhausted by the time my ten-hour (one hour break, nine hours work, still there for 10 hrs in total) is over that all I can manage to do is lie on the couch or sleep.

I can't work 40 hours without turning into a grumpy, sad, exhausted mess. I can't do it. My employer offered me a 35 hour week instead, but ideally I would work a maximum of 30 hours, rather 25. I feel like I'm not weird for this - A lot of people my age experience something like this.

The only thing that could really made most men endure it is love for their children. If you don’t have children it really doesn’t make sense to be a wagie. You could easily just be an Uber driver, and donate blood, or start a business that’s all profit with low start up costs like painting or building fences or something. The reliability of a steady paycheck in exchange for pseudo slavery is only a reasonable bargain if you have kids that depend on you imo

Sold my burdensome mortgaged house and moved back in with my parents, and been there since. I've seen a shitload of layoffs in the tech sector so I was likely gonna get canned at some point anyways.

Shit economy, low pay, cost of living absolutely exploding, yeah. It really makes you think that it's much more worth it gambling on shitcoins instead - yeah you'll lose your ass most of the time, but you only need to get lucky a couple of times to land back on your feet again.

Young people need to band together - communicate, organize, and disrupt the comfort of the people who are okay with the way things are (like >>57150320). That's the only way things will change. The Boomers who run things aren't smarter; and, half the time, they're not even more experienced, having stewed in their own mediocrity for decades. What they are is much, much better-connected. They can get to the people who can change things and pressure them to take action. You'll have noticed what happened when young people started questioning the narrative coming out of Palestine. This is why they hated Occupy Wall Street, BLM, Anonymous. Connected-but-decentralized youth movements. They usually try to neutralize the best of you by giving you plum spots at the Establishment Table, and it sorta worked for Millennials. But Boomers, in their hubris, decided that Zoomers get nothing. So it's up to you to show them the error of their ways, even if it costs you the carrot (which is locked behind a lifetime of indentured servitude to your student loan servicer, or taking 5 years of abuse by seniors in your trade, or whatever, anyway).

We were sold a dream unlike any other generation and now we're being cursed with reality.

That and the "40 hour work week" is a literal meme crafted by companies to exploit you to the utmost extent, I say we're the first generation to experience the idealism rugpull but we're not in actuality. I guess you will be reading this tomorrow or at work.

I felt similar to you, I first worked 40 hours, but knew I couldn't remain sane. My employers were decent, you could even talk to them without fear, my co workers were good as well there. Its just that each day I could feel the dread growing, as though I was nearing death.
6 months in I spoke with them about my intend to leave, but I would be willing to help train my replacement and stayed another month to do so. I also asked to reduce to a 30 hour week, but that was not feasible for them.I am very capable and set up some more efficient workflows and wrote documentation that ended up being in use years after i left.

After that I found a Job doing 30 hours a week. 4 day workweek. tried to get friday off, but it ended up being a Wednesday. I even came an hour later each day by rigging the timekeeping software. That was much better, as you may imagine. However I still felt dread creeping in. I left this one as well after 7 months. If you go this route be a bit flexible and offer that you are willing to do overtime and come in on your free day if an urgent matter requires it. Be just as firm saying though, that you want the time off later. co workers may look at you with jealousy as you leave earlier or are not present on some days, but its only a few.
This employer was pretty decent as well, i showed management and employees some helpful tools and prepared excel and erp templates.

Every time I left, I didn't have another job lined up, but with enough perseverance you can find one. So keep saving and never remain holed up in a job you don't like just because you don't have another one yet. Better to use all your time to find a good employer.
Be skilled, be smart and apply your unique set of knowledge to nail your interview. If you can talk well and appear likeable, that will be much more valuable than your willingness to work "full" time.
Hope this helps as you read this while waging.

Society can't function without at least half of men working several dozens of hours a week. Machines are progressively making it easier but it's still a vital condition. NEETS and other parasites like multi-millionaires and richer folks live off the leverage of millions of people working for them. Because that's what they do : they work and produce something while parasites sit back and relax. They watch the hive do the work for them. That would never happen in a tribe of like 50 people. That only works because millions are unaware they are actual slaves. Or they are aware but can't rebel.
I'm not saying being a parasite is a bad thing, I would say it's the rather the smartest thing you can do. And the Internet and crypto has been the easiest way to "cheat out" of the slave zone.

You would have to add enough disclaimers that ultimately the rule would have vastly, vastly more exceptions than situations where it applies. Work, sure, but don't be in the third world, don't be in east or southeast europe, don't have children or family members you need to support, don't work for minimum wage etc etc.
Now mind you I'm not opposed to low quality and unlucky individuals being filtered out by whatever sort of system and I do recognize that social mobility in the modern world (in first world countries outside of the crab bucket underclass) is at an all time high but to pretend there's an everyone wins situation would just be wrong

Lazy kids will get off their asses and uphold our glorious capitalist system and you will pay for the boomers retirement like a good little slave. You don’t have the balls to challenge boomer authority and your brains are too fried from screen time. Get off your ass and get to work wagie, my pension isn’t gonna pay me to retire without your lazy asses working.

Nowadays, you have tons of resources to automate passive income. If you really hate your situation, but you can't figure out how to break out of the wageslavery, then you're retarded and you deserve being a slave. You're slave material.

That's called depression anon. You don't get nearly the dopamine hits like you used to. I've been there before too.

>relationships suffer
It's because for our parents work was social hour. They met friends and possibly even each other at their jobs.
Meanwhile if a youngin has a good job he probably is surrounded by boomers and pajeets that he can't relate to at all. Even then you can't actually let loose because someone will stab you in the back. And even aside from all that employers are more jewish than ever about extracting as much perceived work (perceived because it might even be bullshit busy work) from you as possible.

I think commuting is what really makes people miserable bastards. There is so much anger now whenever I'm sharing the road with wagies and I can't even be mad or fault them for it.

Basically the world is unraveling before our eyes and boomers are willfully blind to it as long as they can go out to eat and take cruise vacations.
