The man now had to support two households. At the same time, this caused single motherhood to moon, which also, coupled with the core of feminism caused women to work.

Split house holds, more people working and broken homes caused rent to balloon. Coupled with white women and boomers alike not caring about the younger generations, essentially kicking them out once the tax return and check ended left another generation in need of a place to live. Can't forget about the boomers who'd pulled a heloc on their house, using it as their retirement.

All, in all, there's a ton of people who need a place to rent.

To actually believe that immigrants are running rent up or there would be a drop in rent by deporting/blocking immigration is beyond retarded. There's plenty of natives needing a place to live. Ontop of that, it's quite difficult to get a place to rent without knowing someone, paying a few months rent or having a good credit score, which immigrants lack. The boomers sold out America and now people are having to deal with it.
