Architects and Engineers are typically lazy and tunnel-visioned as fuck. Sure they are good at specific types of technical tasks but if you ask them to troubleshoot anything at the application or OS level, they're completely dumbfounded. That's why DevOps even exists. To fill the gap and automate the infrastructure so those types can focus on doing the only things they know how to do. Obviously there are outliers but that's rarely the case.

There’s usually like 1 architect per several teams, they basically do meetings only all day.
And the devops ppl work low level like creating CI/CD pipelines, doing operations etc.
But the amount of work to be done is insane, in a corporation, just to get access to resources usually takes like a week of approvals.
And then theres the very different tech stacks, thousands of servers with their specific uses, and millions of services and applications.

Ive worked for ATT, other midsize ISPs, and a midsize bank (which i wont name cus im still there) but youre way off mark brother, the scope of the work is just too huge, if it was some startup shit company maybe youd need one or two engineers, but not at a bank where a single service usually needs a team of 5 just to maintain a product and support it.

Monitoring, alerting, automating, operations etc thats just at the top of my head and im bad at putting these things into word, thats for the managers and shit

I have transformed my wife through my confidence and she is different, but had no idea what was going on when she entered.
It takes four years of medical school and a four year residency and then if you want to specialize (she considered epilepsy) you would do an one or two year fellowship at a hospital.

These fellowships work you 80 hours a week for 60k/y and we opted that it was not worth it given we are in a small town and I already have money. Neurologists are in extremely high demand in the rural areas and she pulled 350k/y on her very first gig.

And yes, when I bagged her I was the 190 but pure muscle. I was doing the "squats and milk" program and was built like an NFL runningback.
