If you avoid taxes you are stupid. The government is going to get it eventually and when they do they will butt fuck you with the government. On top of that I always sell capital gains after a year to secure my untaxable wealth. Don't want to get in a situation where the government takes my food money. Moral of the story: always pay your taxes early and often. The government will fuck you otherwise. And on top of that it just feels good. I like knowing that I will never have an irs agent at my house auditing my wife's jewelry. The peace of mind coming from knowing I pay my taxes is worth it.
