For example the 2024 Perth gold dragon was cheapest at Apmex when it first went on sale. They’ve increased the price since then tho.

Choosing that nothingburger hill to die on is indicative of low-IQ and homosexuality, there are plenty of good reasons to dislike Perth Mint but that isn't one of 'em.

That's a lot of premium. If you're not concerned about the declaring face value across us border stuff, smaller gold bars would probably be a lot cheaper. Silver has more of a real world trading value and moonshot potential as well, so if you don't hold any, definitely grab some. GSM has Indian head silver 1oz rounds for $1.05 over spot and cheap fractionals rn. 5-20 gram gold bars will run between $3-5/gram over spot at most of the better dealers, and Costco is still running pm deals if you can catch them.
