I've been paper trading leveraged options with a (theoretical) $1k stack. I'll be connecting a wallet this week. With a $1k stack your biggest bet should be $20. Period. You should never use more than 2% of your stack on any single play, and never have more than 20% of your stack in the market (for day trading. Swingies will go to 30% or more I think).

Find a strategy, find a couple markets that fit and watch them closely, find a platform and note the fees and spreads, then test your strategy. 4x isn't much leverage really, I use 5-10x for 10-30min holds with a healthy SL and 20-30x for quick scalps (1-2min plays). Im still tweaking out where to set my SL though, so I can't say I have long term data that my strategy is going to be profitable for years to come, but so far it is. Holding and hoping is the biggest thing that trips everyone up because it will often work, quite well for a time...until it doesn't lol. Every profitable TA trade I've read about says the same thing: losing small is the only way to stay profitable long term. That means setting narrow SL and closing a position even if you really, really think it will come back. 1 liquidation means you need another 100% return to get back to even.

If you're considering swing trading (interday) positions, I don't have any advice except to read and follow the successful swingies and really study the historical charts of the markets you choose. Don't just take someone's word that XYZ is gonna pump by 40% next week or whatever. Learn it for yourself.

If you're serious, GMX is refunding the bulk of fees in ARB for another month or 2, but they only have about a dozen pairs and they're all crypto. gTrade has a ton of crypto pairs and some commodities and forex too, but the fees and spreads suck for most of them and they vary depending on the market at the time. I don't have a suggestion for a stock options platform with a $1k bankroll, but while they exist, I think the markets for bigger traded cryptos like BTC, eth, and even link have enough emotional trading going on to make many of the common TA day trading strategies applicable. If you started watching some markets today, watch the premarket tomorrow then note how the cpi report effects not just stocks, funds and commodities, but major crypto and forex markets as well. Hint: lots of easy to call movements usually during the hour after the announcement lol.

I'm still paper trading and learning, but about 6 weeks so far? I'm starting with $1k to test my strategy, then I'll bump my bankroll and continue. If it works, I'll start taking profit out in fiat. I don't have any plans to trade on a CEX. I'm in the US so essentially CB is my only option, and besides not wanting to pay the for yhe pro version just to get the 5 or 10x leverage they offer, I've seen them crash and hangup on trades/withdraws during heavy trading, so id much rather keep my shit in a wallet than any exchanges (centralized or decentralized). If I decide to start trading stocks and have the requisite $25k as a bankroll, I'll open a regular account with one of the big names and likely pay for a trade view sub as well.

For charts: a free moomoo account is pretty awesome and has everything except for some of the (coveted) user made indicators and 2min candles that tradeview has. But, I've only been using it with 4 charts up (2 for each coin) and watch the 1 min on my main monitor. Moomoo does seem to be avre seconds faster though, so I could see it being adventurous for scalping, but I still wait for confirmation before I take a scalp trade, so using 1min candles on moomoo doesn't giving me a huge edge lol. I'm just taking positions based off Bollinger bands and RSI and looking for flags where I can scalp a small movement. For options trading, there's a super popular and widely available indicator that combines Bollinger bands, RSI, and some other variable and gives specific buy/sell signals called macd. That will be one of the most common indicators you'll see when you search for options trading strategies, but i like to learn it for myself rather than just take a position because someone's algorithmic dot told me to lol.
