because usually the stock goes up before tesla presentations, i was just too late lmfao. if i sold the same day i could've actually made profit, i expected it to keep rising right up until the presentation.

welp, now it's almost worthless so it doesn't matter and I'll just sell it during the next tesla bullrun with minimal loss (or maybe even profit). Unless the tsla stock manages to hit -9% from current price, then the certificate knockout condition gets reached lmfao. but 250 bucks vs 200 bucks lost, doesn't really matter now does it

Did anyone else read that Carnegie article they put out about China? They don't even touch on demographic issues and basically say that China has to shift huge amounts of its growth engine onto the consumer side despite consumers being more wary than ever to spend, and that otherwise they'd need to grow their debt levels to 500% of GDP to maintain 4% - 5% growth over the next decade. That's again assuming nothing about their demographic challenges, and was put out just before that credit downgrade was released, making that insane debt level even less possible to maintain. It also pretty much said that their current model was only sustainable if the rest of the world intentionally stopped investing in their own local manufacturing industries to compensate for China's slowdown, specifically to help China, which they pointed out was patently absurd. There's a point in the article where they suggested that by the early 2030s even 1% - 2% growth would be hard to sustain.

I'm legitimately starting to think that China might be facing a long-term slowdown bros.

The article didn't touch on the demographics at all though, that's why I expressly mentioned that. It's saying the entire model is hitting a wall and doesn't bring up demographics as a factor. Additionally a bunch of countries have tried doing precisely that and failed, I don't see why China would be any different. They already revised a ton of their laws and their birth rates have only fallen faster since.

What the US needs is to kick out every uneducated immigrant from the last ten years, which would lower the cost of living and incentivize families to grow(inb4, tangent). China doesn't need a population growth, they've hit the limit. All of this china talk is actually retarded. We aren’t going to have unipolar order in anyone’s lifetime again. China isn’t going to control Asia because “they have no rizz fr fr no cap”. But all the shit people are saying about china is analogous to what people would have said about the US in the last 1800s compared with the British empire. The country was a total shit show with a depression every 5 years but because of the population size and natural wealth there was no way it wasn’t going to be the biggest in the world. The Chinese economy will have problems because they are producing consumer goods for the west so they would need to alter production somewhat to satisfy the local market, but they actually have savings and it isn’t that hard to redesign shoes or a plastic injecting factory compared to creating an entirely new one in a jurisdiction that operates at 3x the cost.

Their stock market is uninvestible right now because no one wants to hold their currency, but to think they’re fucked long term while we aren’t is idiotic
