I just found this: Europe regulates ''naked short selling'' thru CDSs for instance with their law
https://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/LSU/?uri=CELEX:32012R0236
>The regulation:
>covers all types of financial instruments, in particular shares listed in the EU, derivatives and sovereign debt securities (loans issued by governments);
>lays down strict rules on short selling and certain aspects of CDS in proportion to the risks associated with them, including:
>measures to prevent ‘naked’ short selling* of shares and loans issued by governments,
>a ban on ‘naked’ CDS transactions (including on sovereign debt);
>sets disclosure requirements — investment managers have to disclose certain short-selling transactions to the competent authorities — whereas larger transactions, above a certain threshold, must be publicly disclosed to the markets;
>gives, in periods of exceptional financial instability in an EU country or in the EU as a whole, the competent authorities temporary powers to require greater transparency or to impose restrictions on short-selling and CDS transactions;

BUT THEN they made a whole list of EXCEPTIONS for all the fucking banks

https://www.esma.europa.eu/sites/default/files/library/list_of_market_makers_and_primary_dealers.pdf
>List of market makers and authorised primary dealers who are using the exemption under the Regulation on short selling and credit default swaps According to Article 17(13) of Regulation (EU) No 236/2012 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 14 March 2012 on short selling and certain aspects of credit default swaps, ESMA shall publish and keep up to date on its website a list of market makers and authorised primary dealers who are using the exemption under the Short Selling Regulation (SSR).

>Among the EEA countries, the SSR is applicable in Norway as of 1 January 2017. It will be applicable in the other EEA countries (Iceland and Liechtenstein) upon implementation of the Regulation under the EEA agreement.

No friend, in your option chain toggle "delta" to see how much the contract will rise in price compared to the underlying changing 1point. You got 0dte and probably had a .12-.15 delta contract, it doesn't need to be itm at all just has to move in your direction. I see some good and some very bad here, the bad being how large you sized for 0dte while not understanding how options price underlying movement, the good being that you chose the most liquid security and waited for a solid entry. I suggest sizing way down like 10 contracts on 0dte or 1 on SPX instead. But get familiar with the greeks most important are theta, followed by delta, and finally gamma wich is the rate of change in delta as the underlying moves with or against you. But to answer your question yes it really is that easy in 30 mins.

You remember the liquidity chart by FXEVOLUTION with his daily updates, but then the FED only updates its book on Wednesday, >>/biz/thread/56589047#p56591430
He says its chart or indicator is really about the Central banks and not the treasury, but its chart is daily updated so none of this makes sense.

Well here are the daily charts for the buying and selling by the FED. I think it's what the FX Evolution guy uses.
https://fred.stlouisfed.org/release?rid=379

>This series is constructed as the aggregated daily amount value of the RP transactions reported by the New York Fed as part of the Temporary Open Market Operations.
>Temporary open market operations involve short-term repurchase and reverse repurchase agreements that are designed to temporarily add or drain reserves available to the banking system and influence day-to-day trading in the federal funds market.
>A repurchase agreement (known as repo or RP) is a transaction in which the New York Fed under the authorization and direction of the Federal Open Maker Committee buys a security from an eligible counterparty under an agreement to resell that security in the future. For these transactions, eligible securities are U.S. Treasury instruments, federal agency debt and the mortgage-backed securities issued or fully guaranteed by federal agencies.

AND

https://www.financialresearch.gov/short-term-funding-monitor/
>On September 9, 2020, the Office of Financial Research began daily publication of preliminary series on rates and volumes in three segments of repurchase agreement (repo) markets. These series include information on rates and volumes in each segment, with detail available by tenor or collateral.

>These series are updated most weekdays at 3 p.m. as an update to the Short-term Funding Monitor. Data for centrally cleared repo markets are generally made available with a one business day lag, and data for tri-party repo are generally made available with a two business day lag.

you did the literal best trade you can for the last hour as far as SPY is concerned, you could have gone higher risk with a bigger position to have a higher payout but still the move you did was the literal perfect move
if you are going to trade options please be very careful when it comes to 0dte or 1dte as you are on a very tight clock for the move to play out in your favor
as far as stupidity goes - 3 or 4 dte is the safer side of an intraday option play as you will not lose double digit % value in the span of 2 hours but options are higher risk than buying shares and that risk is why you get a big payout if you are correct
options are fine to trade, just need to read how they work to have a better idea of how wrong a trade can go
there are a bit more complex positions that you can enter outside of just buying a call or a put when betting on a move to happen in a certain direction but you don't have to rush things

Watching the BBBY and post-2020 GME situation unfold is legit fascinating from a psychological perspective.

Even in in the best possible circumstance, you're looking at maybe a 2x or 3x which wouldn't be life changing for the retards who are still in, considering retards aren't going to have more than $10k in the pot at maximum.

But that won't happen. Because the odds are 99.99% that these people go bust praying for their lottery tickets to print.

It makes me think of how many other retarded bags our ancestors held throughout history. Like some retard in the ancient world probably bought a magnetic rock for 10,000 talents of silver thinking in his retarded brain that he had the ultimate insider info and that he would just use his magical rock to pull gold straight from the ground, not realizing that gold and silver are non-ferrous.

Really makes you wonder about our place as a species on a cosmic level.

No one. Anon is fantasizing.
When you have a play like SAVE on a massive uptrend, some anons that missed the boat get jealous. There's a mental blockade to avoid buying the top, even though in this case it's a clear end point at $30 within a few weeks.

Then when we do finally cash out our stacks, all of these same fags will be shitting up the thread coping about how lucky we got, claiming that it was a WSB idea all along. Same shit as GME back in the day.
Fortunately due to the buyout, we won't have to suffer through any SAVE cultists forming their own general thread for the next 3 years. The ticker will simply cease to exist.

Yeah it used to be pretty wild with the hype years ago.
I remember looking at weed stocks in 2016 when they were in the penny stock land and $6 was considered such a huge price it was far too high to chase.
Didn't have any real money back then so I missed the whole thing.
That past and present hype with the sector is actually one reason why I'm so confident about insane gains if it starts moving.
These stocks have an absolute shitload of torque in them because of the mindshare they still have due to past performance, regardless of how good the companies actually are.
This one has hit +$70 twice because of those reasons.
If this starts moving with any real power, get ready to see every redditor and youtuber shilling the crap out of them in no time and people will pile in like crazy.

in what sense? we all know the value on paper is just speculation of your share of existing M2 supply. the real value is you can live in it. unless you stop the application of real value you will never really need to worry about the paper value. like i mentioned before, you would need to stop importing people to fill all the houses. a lender not wanting to divest risk into speculative values sounds to me like WF is over leveraged in risk and is not drawing in new accounts at a rate fast enough. correct me if im wrong, as true conversation is rare in this cesspit.

look up the housing numbers for last week. not enough inventory.

Look, I hate immigrants as much as you do and want them all to go back. However, the simple fact here is that a loan type tied to the value of a specific asset class has ceased. I'm sure banks of that level know more about what's happening than either of us, but I do know they aren't dumb and will cut bait as soon as the math says the collateral they are using is about to collapse in value.

Have you never talked to hoomers?
All of them say the real value is in the loans you can secure with it, especially the mortage but depending on how retarded they are that might also include HELOCs (plural.)

I'm not denying there will be a collapse in value, however i think it will more region specific than nation wide. We wont really know until another banking giant cuts HELOCs. I'm not too concerned about WF due to their history of mismanagement and dubious banking policies. Maybe they cant weather the risk as well as other right now. It'll be a good side bit of information to follow and consider in the coming months.

It will of course be region specific. Go look at the most recent Case-Shiller posts. https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/CSUSHPINSA
Previously hot places have stalled and the smaller markets are still rolling; the small markets tend to feel the end of the "whip" last. The effect is that national C-S is a double top while some of the previously hot markets are an ass clenching bull trap.

I do agree here. Gotta take all the environmental indicators together.

It is absolutely ludicrous. Sorry been training new hires on shit. The better they are the more I get to shitpost.

I hope we get to close these last couple pretty soon but I'm guessing we dive to 200ma, rally for santa and dump sometime in the spring (catastrophically on some "catalyst"). Not that macro is really trackable but I dye grass.
