What is the point of saving for retirement if what most people do save for spend it on terrible financial decisions?

Boomers unironically were the ones who created the US golden age in the 70-90s.
Genxers and millennials are the ones actively dismantling that achievement

Fuck genxers and millennials

Lol no they didn't, it was all made by their parents.

Natural selection by financial means. Some (= most) people have not the faintest clue about generational wealth and will therefore return to the pathetic state their ancestors (not through their own doing btw) escaped from - serfdom. Other people however are capable of thinking a couple of decades ahead into the future and thus try to get their offspring into the the most favorable position possible.
Suum cuique.

kek its literally the opposite of this
50's chads created the golden age
then boomers went off the gold standard and shipped all manufacturing overseas for short term gains
which lead to the current conditions we live in

as stated during the 70s to 90s when the silent generation won ww2 and came home to get educated and work real jobs. Boomers were riding the coat tails of future success the Silent Generation wanted. Boomers were often labelled as undisciplined and it literally shows with what they purchase.

My grandfather recalled making up to 100k a year until he retired when I was born in 1998. My father pretty much lived a very cozy lifestyle and generally fucked off being an under performing loudmouth that in his words he described himself as "the black sheep of the family". In general my father had everything paid for him and when my mother divorced him he used every rule in the book to keep a hold on the finances along with just stopped paying for child support at the end.

I really get nothing in the end of it because generally boomers are nasty narcissistic folk that rejected the hippy movement. My grandfather born in 42, my father born between 74, and me being born in 98.

Boomers never had to deal with the negative consequences of poor decisions financial or otherwise
Example: medical advances made in recent decades are the only thing keeping Boomers alive despite their lifetimes of unrestrained hedonistic debauchery - how exactly did Boomers "earn" the right or privilege to be kept artificially alive in this manner? Even with all their money, the bottom 90% would be totally ruined by medical debts if not for the health insurance apparatus they conveniently inherited, will destroy, and will not bequeath

I sincerely hope we can stop using this ambiguous, gay-sounding, reddit-corrupted term "generational wealth" (should be "INTER-generational") and come up with something better, such as "heretidary capital"

You're correct that it was a (rare) case of a rising tide or tsunami in this case, lifting all ships: the industrial revolution, the unique economic-military position of the USA, its scripted role in the Capitalism vs Communism farce, and its then-emergent role as world-policeman for Zionism/Jewry

Anyone who as an adult has interacted with enough people from that era should very quickly come to understand that there was absolutely nothing superior about them, they are exactly the same goyim cattle as any other generations, but this one happened to have been born on 3rd base - and encouraged to be as egotistic and egoistic as possible

>Are Boomers just perpetual victims?
My mom told me that there were no jobs in the 1980s (even though it was the reagan economic expansion) and there were WAY more jobs now. She also claims she doesn't get any money because she only gets 30k a year in social security, but makes herself out to be a victim for the bad choices she made (retiring early).

Once she even said that I would have to 'pay her back' for raising me by paying for her post-retirement (which is where she spends all her several million dollars in assets and is broke and needs to live in assisted living for 100k a year). Inevitably when I refused, she also considered herself a victim. This was despite the fact my grandmother paid for all her own shit at the end of her life and left her kids 250,000 each.

Lol. You know there's a Facebook meetup group for these people. My friend was a pharmacy tech in the Iraq greezone (navy corpsman). He basically lived in a 5 star hotel in a spot where you couldn't even hear that you were actually in Iraq, but his eyes glass over like John Rambo when he reminisces.

this mentality is anywhere and everywhere. there never was a generation that largely ignored it, there never was a generation that did not have a silent cohort that became wealthy beyond their own expectations by adhering to it.
