The misleading part about these stats is that they cherry pick questions to fit the data.

When they ask about wages, they only ask to compare to one year ago. Yes, we know that inflation has come down over the last year. But that's NOT enough to compensate for the inflation 2-3 years ago, so that's what they should have asked.

Real median wage now compared to one year ago: +1%. Yay.

Real median wage now compared to three years ago: -5%.
And as that includes the slight rebound over the last year.

And when the survey does ask about the situation before the pandemic, then they suddenly no longer ask about wages, but about "net wealth of households". The reason the net wealth of households have increased so much is precisely that the price of houses has increased so much. But this isn't a good thing for the economy. It benefits people that already own houses only on paper, but it hurts the people that don't own houses in practice. The only people that benefit are the landlord class.

So no, the US economy is NOT doing fine for most people. Maybe in another few years we'll have caught back up, but for now we ARE in fact worse off than previously.

Hard to believe official figures and "expert" opinions when they've been manipulated to hell and back, especially when they say weasel bullshit like "inflation is down (if you ignore food, fuel, rent and everything people need to live)!". Or say shit like "GDP line is going up, therefore economy good", yeah no shit gdp is going up when you print billions every week.
