Yeah the link team is good at calculating, at the launch of V0.1 half the pool was available for general access.
This time I estimate about 10m will br available for general access.
Most OGs only have around 10k link, and 7k of that is already staked.
Very few people have 15k+ I think only something like 2000 people.
The team loves fairness so they will let new people stake, its in their best interest.
Hopefully general access leads to a pump but i suspect nothing will happen until the market gets hyped on build airdrops

Ethplorer although that information may not be as accurate now. 10k+ link has always been around 3k wallets, which yes isn't accurate because people split wallets or leave it on exchanges, but gives a close enough approximation.

That said, I disagree with there being space in general, what you're forgetting is there's people who had early access last time but likely skipped staking because of no unlock, who will stake now (and still have early access). In addition, any accumulation done over the last year by anyone with an early access wallet can now be staked. And there are definitely people with 7k+ link who didn't have multiple wallets prepped last time, who will benefit both from the new 15k limit, and potentially having prepped multiple wallets.

tl;dr general access may get cucked, and if it doesn't probably fills up near instantly.

Also if you haven't realized it by yet, holders are financially incentivized to fud you out of staking, as the apy is set based on how full the pool is. That's why you see all these "good faith" discussions on the downsides of staking.

Was reading a bit about how the unlocking works, and it says that after you choose to unstake and wait the 28 days, you have a 7 day window to withdraw your staked link. But if you change your mind during the cooldown period and you decide not to withdrawl during the 7 day window, there are no penalties and your link remains staked

So for all you anons so concerned over the 28 day waiting period, just keep requesting to unstake. Wait the 28 days plus 7 day withdraw window, and a soon as the 7 days is up, start the 28 day countdown again. At least then you have a much better chance of getting your funds out in a more timely manner. And if you're lucky, youll be in that 7 day withdraw window when you decide to unstake for real

As far as i can tell theres no downside to doing this, and you potentially reduce the wait time by a lot
