I think this level of shilling is sort of alluding to what is going to happen. They are desperate for us to believe that shorts would not transfer over to the new equity and they want you primed to sell instead of understanding your power to squeeze.
If 1 share is given to the DTCC for each share of BBBYQ then that automatically means that if BBBYQ was naked short then the brokers will automatically owe more shares to shareholders than they are given. And no broker is going to willingly accept being naked short without even earning the profit of doing the actual shorting!
Anyone naked short is simply going to have their -10,000 BBBYQ position carried over to being -10,000 shares of Ted.
Investment bankers working on IPOs take special care to find the proper valuation to maximize both the returns for the business, but so as to also provide a fair value to investors so they do not instantly eat a loss. They also allocate funds and shares to themselves to help prop up the price as a form of good will by the bank for the company's business.
In the case of Teddy, which will ALREADY be naked short will very likely be valued BELOW market value to entice value investors to slurp up the equity much to the chagrin of the shorts.
Naked shorts are already bust, they just don't know it yet. No broker is going to jump in the way of the bullet on behalf of their clients. You have to post collateral to even engage in short selling. So 100% of the assets in your account are exposed. And not only that, once you get liquidated, if that is not enough to cover the cost to buy back the Teddy shares your broker has the right to sue you.

We basically uncovered a pretty large conspiracy to use financial instruments, insider saboteurs, to steal shareholder equity through abusing systemic naked short selling.
The entire thing that makes this whole "MOASS" thing real is that in order to naked short sell you inherently take on a very DANGEROUS form of leverage that is ultimately not fungible and able to be settled in CASH.
The nature of needing to get investors to sell in order for brokers to balance their books creates a very dangerous situation. Instead of BBBYQ going to $0, if it goes the other direction they can get blown out immediately. Without further shorting the buy pressure, the price can run away from them and FORCE them to buy into an illiquid market.
Imagine having $1BN and I tell you you need to go and buy up 1 MILLION Rolex Watches. And at the exact time you start this quest, I release a news article in the press that you are legally OBLIGATED to buy them for ANY PRICE. You're fucked. It doesn't matter who or how big your pockets are. The losses can only be hidden temporarily through total return swaps and even that is only a temporary solution because the stock continues to be mispriced and continues to get slurped up.
Supply and Demand is a price point that clears the maximum number of transactions between buyers and sellers. In the case of GME it appears that only the buyers are showing up? Without the shorts there is no market. It is ILLIQUID.
