cold wallet = long-term storage
hot wallet = short-term storage

Moving money to short term storage usually means it'll be exchanged. For what? Who knows? An exchange like Binance has a myriad of reasons to do movements like that. Only insiders know where that money will be spent and the rest of the market can only speculate. You can gain perspective on how much the 3.9b represents comparing it to the total market cap of crypto, although none of those number are solid data since USDT can lose its peg and become completely worthless overnight.

USDC is backed. they have audits. proven t bills.

usdt is not backed and printed whenever the casino(binance/bitfinex) needs more chips to gamble with.

except people are assuming USDT is worth the same as USDC and its extremely unlikely but they swap 1:1 anyway. someday, an American exchange is going to be holding a whole lot or hot fucking garbage usdt and it's going to tank because tether spent the last few years draining all the value swapping out for usdc.

screenshot relevant. usdt instantly printed 1b usdt out of thin air.

DO YOU UNDERSTAND ANYTHING

USDC is having to burn reserves. that's why it's reserves and market cap are going down. it's not just being exchanged for tether, it's being exchanged for tether and then turned into USD through kraken, coinbase, etc.

this isn't simply being swapped out, it's disappearing. all the while USDT market cap grows because someone is suppsedly funneling billions into a stablecoin that's about to get legal action taken against it? think you fuckin idiot

1. print tether
2. swap tether for usdc
3. cash out usdc
