Ordering custom wares: Smelting edition

I want a small crucifix that can fit in my pocket or my wallet as a token of my faith but I don't want to buy some mass produced thing from amazon. I want to order it to some blacksmith who can smelt one out of bronze or another metal that looks nice but it's not overly expensive like silver or gold. My objective is to make a family heirloom out of it, gaining value over time.
Have you made any orders of this nature? The easy task would be ordering it from a blacksmith with name but that will cost me a fortune and it might ignore my order because it is small.

I'd try Etsy, you can probably directly contact a seller there that does that kind of thing if they don't have something already to spec. Also, silver is like $23 an ounce, it's not that expensive unless you're making a fuck huge crucifix.

You are right. Silver is quite cheap for a small item. I am checking how it ages and I like the look of bronze better. I guess I could polish the silver crucifix every now and then but having a greenish crucifix should be aesthetically pleasing too.
MY objective is to keep it forever so aging is a big factor to me.

Apmex. Look up silver cross. They have them in 1/2 oz for $22.64, 1 oz for $36.95 and 2oz for $69.73. All of them hand poured. Brand is 9fine Mint.

Silver tarnish isn’t really that big of a deal honestly, they make polishes specifically for silver, you can get a whole tub of it for like $10 and it will last you a decade lol
