I've met too many defense company employees to feel comfortable investing money in them.
Also micro controllers have a lot of peace time uses, they're probably the strongest part of US manufacturing so there's going to be less volatility. I've done a lot of work with them so I'm very very familiar with the technology too but maybe that's not so helpful for you.

My theory is that it's very similar to the asset hoarding (in particular housing) we've been seeing. Trading in the dollar is just flat out getting expensive between taxes and the volatile inflation so there's less and less liquidity in these markets; the bids and asks just aren't coming together.
It's extreme enough that almost anything in the US a worker touches gets crazy expensive. It was always cheaper for example to cook your own food but it's probably an order of magnitude cheaper now for example.
Because of that you'll see people DIYing much more because that actually brings them more value than paying other people to do things even though it takes more of their time and the results tend to be mediocre.
On top of this the asks have to compete with social services and investments. Yeah some people carry a lot of debt etc and are effectively so they'll will always work no matter what but the margin of people who can be picky gets underestimated and I think they'll check out since there's just so little value in being an employee now.
