>2) Cheaper credit allows student loans for HBCU attendees and graduates to pay themselves down via negative rates, freeing a generation of young borrowers.

I'm not trying to be mean, anon. But you can calculate probabilities on limited risk/limited reward spreads. The credit and debit spreads don't win over time, even with something highly liquid like SPY. Bearish positions (over the general market) don't win over time either. You can use your knowledge of spreads to gauge market sentiment by checking the large orders on SPY (check the time and date placed, figure out the spread type). There will be key strikes targeted. You'll need a better broker than RH. But you're better off going long and using deep ITM/deep expiration calls for to create synthetic shares at 2x to 3x leverage. Just some friendly advice. And hopefully you're maxing out your 401k and IRA before putting any money into your individual account.

>> No.56337083

day after day i watch prices move and still have no fucking idea of where the fuck we're going.
What I don't get the most is how the market can be short-sighted as much as it can be long-sighted whenever the fuck it feels like.
First half of the year was simply "Macro is shit? Fed keeps hiking? Muh recession? Don't care monkey brain just retardbuy line go up will think about downside in 2 weeks"
Suddenly sometime in august they realize things aren't looking as good as the x1000 valuation of nvidia suggests, panic kicks in and we start dumping.
Alright, fine, so far so good, however now, when things are LITERALLY THE SAME, and even worse off in various aspects (war, hike coming in november, etc) the reptilebrain just retardbuys and follows the retardpump again because "le santa rally"? Suddenly nothing matters and I'm just buying shit because tomorrow line go up another 0.5%? This is the epitome of being a lemming without a frontal lobe who does not consider the future beyond the next 5 minutes, and everyone is behaving like this since Friday.
Really, what the F U C K???

Last October the Fed intervened to save the Japs. BTFP from the banking crisis threw gasoline on the fire of that rally earlier in the year. August was the peak because the Treasury's quarterly refunding announcement confirmed a fuckton of new issuance. Now we're bouncing because the Fed's silent YCC apparently kicks in at 5% on the 10 year.

Now we wait until inflation, jobs, or war data tips us one way or the other.

EVENTUALLY you lose, and the fact that so many people trade "successfully" is simply because they havent traded long enough. the vast majority of people are losing and not beating the average. its like seeing successful business people, or artists who make it seem easy and attainable. you dont see the millions of people who have failed.

In principle it's actually quite easy to beat the market. The market contains hundreds of companies that are obviously about to go bankrupt. Just don't buy any of those and you're beating the average already.

But you're right that in practice it's harder than it seems. Funds have to jump through a bunch of hoops to play with other people's money (I really hope none of them are posting here). And retail traders do a lot of just plain trading like shit - buying stuff they don't understand and playing with it twice a week for no reason.

Not a bad idea. A lot of anons here run 3x ETFs with their 5 figure accounts, but SSO is the better bet. If you go to one of the 2+ year expiration dates with SPY options you can run the deepest ITM LEAPS for 1.5x leverage in most conditions. That would give you better returns versus the daily leverage (and volatility drag) of SSO. SSO will drag about 4% to 5% yearly, over a long term hold. Versus the furthest ITM LEAPS which lose less than 1% yearly from extrinsic (time) value. And you would mix the LEAPS alongside SPY shares for your 1.3x leverage goal. Just a suggestion.

I found that 1.5x leverage is the "safe" optimal leverage with the SP500. Scoops might have been referring to the Nasdaq 100 with the 1.3x which sounds about right based on the average annual volatility. With your SSO strategy you're not getting 1.3x annual leverage, but daily leverage. Long term, if the SP 500 goes up 10% annually, you'll only get 15% or so out of SSO. You're not truly getting the 1.3x leverage which is what you're aiming for. Scoops talks a big game but he doesn't understand options, doesn't have portfolio margin, and has a small account compared to the salary he claims. QQQ has around 13.5% compound growth over the past 30 years, so you could just buy that and outperform your strategy.

It's either at the same time or moving earlier than stocks and not lagging behind. But you can't even make a play on that as it's stupid to buy 10y bonds in EU as long as the german yield curve is giga inverted, cause you know if this suddenly uninverts your cheap bonds will only get cheaper. Hmm, completely undid all its gains this year. Looks promising but I think it's going to its 4-year MA which is around 610-620. But I do like the stock since it behaves rationally and goes down on worse earnings and worse guidance unlike tech which is unpredictable.
The price gouging has probably reached a peak or it is slowing down so naturally their revenue growth is gonna start resembling that of pre-covid.
I don't know, it looks kinda bearish at this point so I think I am gonna wait a bit.

How Does Yield Curve Control Work?

Similar to a policy rate, YCC aims to control interest rates along some portion of the yield curve. The yield curve is usually defined as the range of yields on Treasury securities from three-month Treasury bills to 30-year Treasury bonds. However, YCC targets longer-term rates directly by imposing interest rate caps on particular maturities. Because bond prices and yields are inversely related, this also implies a price floor for targeted maturities. If bond prices (yields) of targeted maturities remain above (below) the floor, the central bank does nothing. However, if prices fall (rise) below (above) the floor, the central bank buys targeted-maturity bonds—increasing the demand and thus the price of those bonds.

The minutes of the FOMC meeting on June 9-10 noted that the staff highlighted three examples of YCC policies: Federal Reserve policy during and after World War II, the Bank of Japan’s policy adopted in 2016 and the Reserve Bank of Australia’s policy adopted in March 2020.

this is 3x higher than Fed's mandate 2%
we are looking for +0.1%-0.2% MoM in order to be on sustainable inflation path
+0.5% MoM is not sustainable lmao. It is also producer prices, meaning that this will get passed along to end consumer - meaning that for the next several months (as things move from "production" to "consumer") more inflation will be tacked on

>Treasuries continue to benefit from a flight-to-quality bid and there wasn't anything within the PPI release that will offset that. Geopolitical uncertainty remains the primary theme of the session and we're unwilling to fade that ahead of this afternoon's 10-year auction and the FOMC meeting minutes. 10-year yields reached as low as 4.54% and appear to be stabilizing just under 4.60% as investors remain attuned to any further headlines and developments from the Middle East.
Lol. Israel conflict unironically holding the market up on its back, by propping up bond market due to geopolitical risk.

https://www.forexlive.com/news/us-dollar-falls-despite-the-rise-in-ppi-20231011/
>US dollar falls despite the rise in PPI
>The market is losing interest in inflation
>The price action after today's PPI report might be a preview of what's to come ahead of Thursday's highly-anticipated CPI report.
>The market is showing that worries about inflation have faded. The latest bump in PPI was energy-driven but since the start of October, oil prices are down and gasoline cracks have narrowed dramatically. That will translate into a decline in October PPI, so today's jump in Sept PPI was quickly faded.
>The same playbook should apply to CPI.
>Meanwhile, bond yields continue to retrace on geopolitical risk and that's also taking a bite out of the US dollar.
>The big winner against the US dollar at the moment is the pound, which is higher for the sixth day and above 1.23 for the first time since Sept 20.
Short the pound. 10yr auction will suck, Fed minutes will suck. GBP will fall.
