just read alephium whitepaper, it literally doesn't solve anything?

How does it prevent security of the total network getting reduced to the security of one shard? Each shard i to j tx is one blockchain, so the work backing each shard is just a part of the entire network work yet compromises the entire network if taken over by a majority

the proof of less work stuff is nonsense as well, you can get majority tokens and coinbase them back to yourself without people knowing

Why can't the value just be that it is a representation of value? That's what modern currency is, even gold is that really.

The value is what you trade it for, not what it is in itself. No form of money has any intrinsic value. It's what you trade it for and how much you are willing to give and willing to receive for goods and services that gives any form of currency value. Money itself is valueless, its just a highly meta form of bartering. It enables us to specialise and that's incredibly useful.

In regards to crypto specifically though? It's the end of banks and financial middlemen. It's the end of centralised finance. It may take decades, but it will happen because the box is now open. Even in regards to borrowing or saving money. Decentralised finance gives power to the common man, it enables us to pool our resources together without any need for organising and help each other all while providing value for each other. P2P lending for example, or staking as a form of savings account, or trading without putting your money in the hands of anyone other than the person you want to have it. It removes trust from the equation, meaning a greater number of deals can be made.

It genuinely is the future of finance, and in a genuinely good way. Meme coins are exactly what you said though, just bullshit specifically designed to be bought and sold. Someone wins, someone loses, its a zero sum game, eventually everyone loses or gets out because as you can see with every shitcoin eventually it depreciates to nothing since it was nothing to begin with.

You're an idiot fren. I turned 30k into 700k last run off of legit holdings like ETH (no hehe its a doggy coin meme gains) and my stack for the next run is ICP, XCH, DKP. Do with this information what you will.
