Oh look it's going to be one of those days where nothing really happens until some random nothingburger Fed roundtable starts, then retail bears are unironically going to make plays based off of what color tie he's wearing and how on-time the meeting starts. Nothing proves to me that the market is run by a bunch of chimps like these days.

Also here we laugh at gold/silver/copper baggies. Imagine holding gold/silver as everyone is buying the dollar. The US is the only thing holding copper prices at this neutral level. Someone here said that copper ain't profitable at current prices but please look at the graph and tell me it's bullish. As the "higher for longer" bs gets passed around and there is less and less housing being built (relatively speaking), there is no way copper will be bullish in the foreseeable future. I don't but here's some food for thought. Start using stops. If you buy something without a stop and it goes up you'll make lots of money. If you use a stop you won't make quite as much but you'll still make plenty. So if your thesis is true you make money either way and you're happy. But what if it goes down like 75% of stocks do in the long term? If you have a stop you lose a little bit and then you move on or maybe it goes back up and you try again. But if you don't have a stop.. well, you end up a demoralized bagholder. The upshot here is there is very little downside to a stop but not using one has a very nasty downside which you are experiencing right now

You have a little confused
Yes they are buying bonds - but the bonds they are buying are Japanese ones
in order to buy Japanese ones, they have to sell US bonds for dollars
then they use those dollars to buy yen (increasing demand for yen relative to dollar) with the intention to prop up the yen and prevent it from losing value (artificial demand)
then they use the yen to buy Japanese bonds
however, they literally are running out of money / the ability to defend the bonds, defend the yen, and the market has sniffed it out
