Dumb hypothetical. Iran and Saudi are friendlier than they've been in decades. And the Armenia-Azeri scuffle is a couple irrelevant mountain tribes being turned into another weapons testing ground like Ukraine.

Kazatomprom remains extremely cheap especially in comparison to Cameco, lots of beta on the junior side. ARCH on the coal side for example. Canadian natty focused E&Ps Tourmaline and Arc for natgas alpha and a multitude of lower quality Canadian Montney / US Permian/Eagle Ford producers for natgas beta. XOM or CNQ for oil alpha for example, many many lower quality ones for beta.

These are just some examples. I'm sure some have different thoughts and views. Point is, the energy sector as a whole is hated.

>get so fucking upset and mad at the market, the government, current social economic factors and news that my grandpa fell and broke his hip this morning I cracked a tooth and, due to that pain my hand reflexively tightened and shattered a glass coke bottle in my palm
>spent an hour using tweezers to pick shards of glass from hand, cleaning a slurry of blood, coke and glass from my kitchen floor and applying bandages to my hand
>as one last fuck you for today, as I was trying to juggle out a frozen pizza from the oven with one hand, it fell, flipped over and landed toppings first on my bare foot, so the dinner I was looking forward to on my cheat day was ruined and I now have a foot slathered in Aloe Vera to help with the burns

P/E of 30-40 is completely reasonable for a growing tech company in a high interest environment. In summer 1998 Microsoft was trading at a P/E of 30-40 when the fed funds rate was 5.25%. Until nuclear fusion we should continue using hydrocarbons and exploring for them. There is simply no other way to spur developement as without them causes significant rent-seeking drag effects like EV's which are ineffecient for mass production and are not of parallel value as an ICE engine. And no amount of solar energy/wind energy will be able to make it effecient currently since it's a grid-based problem. However once nuclear fusion is made to scale energy essentially becomes free aside from delivery costs it will then make sense to transition to EV's.

Until that point? Oil is needed for transportation, and drilling for oil provides natural gas byproducts that can be burned for energy in plants. Shit, natural gas is essentially free aside from delivery costs as is.

It's this type of thinking that just keeps things stuck in the mud. Yeah EVs won't work right now, in the United States, at the current scale that we use gas burning cars. Can you really not imagine a world where the US has a much more robust bus/train/tram/metro network?? Some European countries have it nailed, it's legitimately one of the only things they do better. I'm not even advocating for the eradication of fossil fuel use, I'm just saying maybe we should stop giving into legacy carmaker bullshit and encouraging everyone to buy $40,000 that literally don't work without jew juice.

Even if we find some kind of worksble enegy silver bullet like fusion (as in, "basically unlimited free energy" though even that would likely come with large cost caveats since the buildings need to be built and maintained and there may be radiation damage or corrosion or high temperatures or high water use or you name it bringing up costs), we will still rely on oil and natural gas for a variety of materials and chemicals. EV's are rent-seeking behaviour requiring massive government surpluses to work. However, Tesla has brought innovations such as the gigapress which have drastically reduced costs.. But if we scaled that down to ICE? we could drastically reduce the cost of cars. That said the U.S.. is not Western Europe. Its closer to Eastern Europe in terms of geography with some urban corridors that are still only sparsly populated compared to places like the Netherlands. Should infastructure we upgraded? Whole heartedly YES. Thats what government money should be spent on, but even then infastructure projects turn into corruption nearly 130% of the time. Just see Californias high speed rail project.

Basic infra like transmission lines are barely kept in order, and new ones keep getting shot down by NIMBYs, environmentalists and even governments, or they end up in permitting/legal hell all too often. If you want to balance out with some energy exposure FRO might be a good option too. With the oil market in geopolitical flux, the ones who can deliver from point A to point B will be the top dog. Add in a solid dividend and the picture of a good long-term stock pick starts to come together.

I would be extremely cautious about investing in NAK. The permitting situation is not certain, and the project has clearly been barred from development for now. It needs to be overruled and guaranteed to be developed before it turns from a wild all-or-nothing speculation into an actually investment-grade copper project. You're betting on politics and the courts when you bet on NAK. Make sure you know what you're getting into.

>EVs
I haven't given things like vehicle weight nuch thought. One would think it's put into consideration, after all loaded freight trucks also move on the roads. But the cabling required for all the would-be charging stations (and the higher grid voltage required to support a greater EV integration) are things I know to be issues that policymakers never seem to address. It's becoming clear to me that EV adoption will be much slower and more limited than central planners would like, same as "green" energy.

Bridges, overpasses, and similar things are all built to handle weights well above what EVs could stress. Of course, we also failing and weakening infrastructure. The problem is just roads. The heavier the vehicle, the more wear it does on the road. Think your roads are rough and bad now? They'll get way worse with heavy ass EVs, and they'll need to be repaired more often costing exorbitant amounts.

Can we expect picrel? First green circle also was a restoration after a weekend. And monday is a holiday for a very small but financially strong religious-ethnic group. You might say, >why would I care, it's DAX
Yes, but it's not like they all move together and sometimes another index can tell you more about what YOUR index (S&P for example) will do.

The literal hedgoor? As EU I don't fully understand picrel. There are only few good options brokers, I think practically only IBKR. And since i don't want the hassle with doing TAX, I'm currently not using it. I also hate METAtrader.

So you bet in both directions with puts, by buying and selling. Isn't selling very risky as you can go into debt? But both are positive, so what is the problem?
