I somehow stumbled onto a company called The Funded Trader and their YouTube channel is a top kek. The larp is insane. The guy who owns the company is grifting zoomers out of "challenge" money and these zoomers don't really grasp the fact that they are trading with demo accounts instead of a live account. Allegedly you have to pass two trading test phases with demo accounts and then they will fund you with a "live" account and then they will pay you out a percentage of your profits. But my understanding is that you are never trading with a live account, it's still a demo account. Then the owner will look at your demo trades and copy them in his live master account to make the real money that is supposed to get paid out to the demo traders for coming up with the trade ideas. But there is fuckery throughout the entire process with manipulation of the demo account market order fills to make traders lose so they have to buy another "challenge" demo account. Because if you fail your test phases they keep the sign up fees and don't have to pay you out anything. And their YouTube has all these traders on there saying they paid all this money in challenge fees just to get 1 payout eventually. And those are supposed to be the success stories. And allegedly they don't pay out to successful traders and come up with excuses to ban them. Seems like a pretty good grift, I'll give him credit for that

I think the bottleneck from doing it properly and not fraudulently is the demo account aspect. Since the traders aren't active market participants they can't use limit orders and have no idea whether their market orders would actually get filled at the price they received. So there seems to be a lot of bitching about slippage. I saw a guy claim he wanted to sell something for $1700 and the market order filled at $300. So there goes all his profits and therefore no payout from the company. Idk how you can make fake trading more accurate because there is no way to know if you would be filled had you placed a live limit order. But I feel like there has to be a better and more honest way. But these companies actively want their traders to lose and "but in" again. Hence all the propaganda on YouTube from their success stories. One of the success stories was a guy who got a $60k payout but paid $60k in challenge fees to get that. To me that sounds like junkie behavior

Yea idk how much capital would be needed. I'd fully leverage my own assets to make it happen and then seek other investors. But I still think the main hangup is the fact that paying people out from demo account trading is inherently risky and doesn't lend itself well to high frequency large lot trading. He denied a guys payout because the guy was trading with huge lot sizes and scalping too quickly for the trades to be copied in the live account. So even though that guy didn't break any rules and in fact grew his demo account they denied his payout. Idk how you would fix that

True no need to copy those faggots formula. But the problem with live accounts are the PDT rules requiring $25k to not be limited in # of day trades per week. But giving zoomies access to that kind of real capital seems like a disaster waiting to happen. Would have to put hard stop limits on all their trades and lock them out of their accounts if they get out of hand on the day. To some extent yes, but difference is with a real broker in a live account you can place a limit order and if it doesn't fill then it's no sweat off your back. Vs being at their mercy with a market order no matter what. And it sounds like the spreads in these demo accounts is artificially marked up to A) make their traders lose on purpose and B) to simulate the slippage that would occur had you placed a market order with those lot sizes in a live account. But everyone knows that you use limit orders always unless you are doing a long term buy and hold strategy. You can't be live day trading with market orders, regardless of the fact that sometimes you get a price improvement. Most times you just get heemed

>> No.56147267

Seems like the big attraction to these "prop" firms is that they advertise that you can have access to a six figure trading account for only a few hundred dollars fee. But it's not really that size because A) it's a demo account and B) if you lose 5-10% of that demo account you get booted from the program without a refund of the fee, which is exactly what they want. The nature of the business seems to be a grift. And then to do it properly you would just wind up operating like a bank or hedge fund trading desk.

And so, the green pendulum swings the other way.

https://oilprice.com/Energy/Energy-General/Energy-Security-Trumps-ESG-Agenda-For-Big-Oil.html

>Despite the record emissions, Big Oil defied environmentalists and ESG-minded investors by saying this year that oil and gas are too important energy sources to be easily dismissed in the energy transition.

>Shell and BP said earlier this year that they would invest more in resilient oil and gas projects than previously planned and would pump more hydrocarbons for longer to meet the world’s needs. “There is no one solution. It is critical that the world avoids dismantling the current energy system faster than we are able to build the clean energy system of the future,” Shell’s CEO Wael Sawan said on Capital Markets Day in June.

>“Oil and gas WILL continue to play a crucial role in the energy system for a long time to come, with demand reducing only gradually over time. Continued investment in oil and gas is critical to ensure a balanced energy transition, because of the growing energy demand I just mentioned, as well as natural decline rates and severe underinvestment in recent years.”

>Reducing global oil and gas production would be “dangerous and irresponsible” as the world still desperately needs those hydrocarbons, Sawan told the BBC a few weeks later.

Yep. I'm thinkin' based. Fuck eco-fascists, embrace energy.

how is a pause or rate cut bullish??? It’s not
Rate cut = somethings broken .. they need to reverse course with inflation out of control
Which will mean the balance sheet QT will be on overdrive to dump it
Rate pause = duration risk of pain as economy keeps unraveling causing pain that will be longer lasting and cause a deeper recession versus a shallow one

Pray for a rate hike if you’re a bull

How do I do this?
I got my inherited IRA and stuff. I want to leave most of it alone, but I got$60k in a non inherited brokerage account. I want to learn to day trade eventually. They say you have to have a minimum of $25000 to do that. I don't want to risk that much while I'm starting out. This shit is currently at vanguard. I'm thinking I should move it to Schwab or Fidelity. Should I move the IRA too? Should I keep them separate on separate platforms? Does it even matter?
Also which brokerage is better?

Also, why is your board Mumu vs Bobo? I don't understand why a trader is committed to be one or the other. Don't you just bet the way you think it's going today? It's this more of a long position thing?

Yes, I'm too stupid to be day trading, but I learn fast and don't plan to start anytime that soon.

No, of course not
It's not about whether they raise tomorrow, it's whether they declare the fight is over or not, the forward guidance
In case you're unaware or have been living under a rock, Eurozone economy is collapsing, and even though inflation is surging higher / worse in EU than in US, the recession is so bad (and monetary policy lags) that ECB already waved the white flag and failed to contain inflation, prioritizing the economy over inflation
The Fed cannot do this, as US economy relative to EU economy is stronger, and inflation pressures are roaring back here as they are in EU and worldwide (eg. PPI 14 month high)
Fed must signal that depending on incoming data there may be more increases - they will not shut the door on more hikes
this will cause bonds to sell off and break off into uncharted territory, new lows / new yield highs, it will also make the dollar jerk higher, both will make stocks fall
however, the market is extremely manipulated, and dictated by hedging and 0dte - so it may go like
>2pm press release, as expected - relief for volatility hedges
>hedges come off, feedback loop of dealers covering short shares for delta neutral
>2:30pm Powell speech, signal not done yet
>sell off
>flat close - puts get fucked, calls get fucked, everyone gets fucked except MM
>in coming days / weeks the reality of yields going higher sinks in, markets sell off - but not before shaking off the shorts with some big premarket +0.5% rallies that evaporate before 10:00am

I kept all of that for when that gig was to end I'd have to return to the woods, but a serious health issue hit me out of nowhere and someone let me stay with them for a while and I started using that saved up money to trade so I could grow it. Here I am.

probably it is, even if likely less toxic than Chile since it has to follow some sort of regulations, and in the case they fail to comply and the governament doesnt enforce it you can escalate it to european courts. but its not as if it matters, that place was only ever good for raising cattle, and since we entered the EU cattle heads have dropped drastically and most of their people moved out and only the old ones are left. the plans seems to be to revitalize the region with mining and manufactoring jobs by feeding the entire continent with litium for energetic transition. but so far it seems to me they are only mining it at the behest of foreign companies for exportation and no manufactoring facilities have been done yet.

the problem is not corruption per say. last year i had an exam on modern history, the teacher wanted me to speak about versailles. i had a great grade despite barely studying that shit (she wanted us to speak about french court life, the sort of shit only women care about) because i managed to write around it speaking of its symbolic value. one of my cases was

>king Louis had centralized the power of decision making in his figure as opposed to the regional parliaments, this allowed for more definite and stronger stances on recurring issues, however it also meant less effective policy making. on one hand because the king was detached from the local issues, or maybe because the same problem in different areas manifests different sintoms, there was also the issue that by the time the back and forth between officials of the king and the king himself was done that circumstances could have changed rendering its orders not only useless, but sometimes exacerbating the problem even further

i think its the same problem with the european parliament, added to that there is the fact that larger countries have more deputies, even if they try and balance it out it ends up meaning that they can block progress either because its not in their constituents interest or because they feel they have more pressing matters

This whole financial world is only about scamming the next person.

The last 2 weeks I really lost fun in trading. It's sickening and unfun when you realize that all the moves the market does is just to fuck as many people as possible, no matter if it makes sense or not and last thursday+friday was the best proof. Especially that rugpull 5 mins before US open on friday.

Nobody with an oven at home should ever need to buy these. You can get a multi-pound bag of frozen nuggies at the grocery store and choose from a yuge selection of bbq sauces and all of it costs a small fraction of what you pay minimum wagies to hopefully not fuck up at Macdondal.
